As you know, especially those here in the States, the TV broadcasts are switching from analog to all-digital on February 17'th, 2009, and analog goes away on the 18'th.
Or so, that's the plan.
When innaugrated and put into office, Obama is going to plead to Congress to once again, push back the transition date, because the $40 coupon program ran out of money, and states the trasnsition is not fair for the poor, and the confused.
I say, tough crap. These people had about AN ENTIRE YEAR to get answers to their questions, as well as to apply for the coupons, or to raise anough cash, even over time, to buy the cheap converter boxes outright, which are a mere $40 to $80. I also blame the government for not making the qualifications tight enough to eliminate people from the program, who could easilly pay for these things. I'm no rich person, and I bought TWO in full, one for an Aunt (for when her cable goes out), and one for my outdoor projector-tv setup (summer thing).
As of now, the 2/18/09 date is still intact, for analog's death note. It should stay this way. People ignorance is no excuse for pushing back a date, when they coul've got off their ass and do the work when it was brought up many months ago.
