The following is not perfect, and there's three answers to each, all numbered 1, 2, and 3. This'll give you a rough score on which way you lean. Keep in mind that you want to pick the answer CLOSEST to yours.

You might surprise yourself, and actually aggree with the "other side", whichever your side is.

================================================== ========================
You have a 10-year-old son, and he wants to join a Pop Warner Football team. There are three different groups in which you can enroll him in. Which would you rather him be in?

(1) Win or lose, everybody wins a trophy.
(2) Teams win, teams lose, but outstanding players win trophies, whether they were on the winning side, or not.
(3) League where only the winning team gets trophies, the losing teams have to accept loss.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your kid comes home from school and he hands you a test. You'd like to see from the teacher:

(1) No red ink, or answers marked simply wrong. That will offend the student, or hurt their feelings.
(2) Red ink, wrong answers, encouraging corrections, and partial credit for partially right answers/steps to solve a problem.
(3) Wrong answers are wrong, period.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a tough one: An adult is charged with raping a liitle boy, and in testimony, the rapist said he was also raped as a small kid. If you were on the jury of this case, how would you swing?

(1) He should get a light sentince, because, he was a victim, too.
(2) You feel for him, but he should'nt get off lightly, because he should know better.
(3) Maximum sentince, death row if possible.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's your stance on the rich getting taxed, versus the lower-wage earners?

(1) The rich should pay more. They can afford it.
(2) Flat tax. Everyone should pay the same rate, reguardless of income.
(3) The rich should pay less in taxes, shift the burden elsewhere.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marajuana:

(1) Legalize it, period.
(2) Medical use, maybe, but other uses? No.
(3) It's an illegal drug, no exceptions.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Who do you blame for the economic failure?

(1) Republicans
(2) Both parties
(3) Democrats

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your stance on illegal immigrants:

(1) They're trying to make a life for themselves, let them stay.
(2) Per-case basis. Some may need to stay, or get killed back home, the rest, send back.
(3) Send them all back where they came from, period.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
People who get Welfare, Food Stanps, and other forms of aid:

(1) Everyone who wants it, shall get it.
(2) People need it, but get the lazy and abusive people off assistance.
(3) You don't want to work, you don't get any money. Help is for the despirate.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abortion:

(1) Need one? Go get one.
(2) It's a woman's right to choose, but you should look at adoption, or other ways to avoid abortion, if you can.
(3) It's a crime. It's murder.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hollywood's actors, and their pollitical views:

(1) Straight on!
(2) A bit far-fetched, but sometimes are right.
(3) Left-Wing lunitics.

================================================== ========================

How'd you do? Here's the score breakdown:

INDIVIDUAL SCENARIOS: A 1 means you're thinking like a Democrat, a 3 as a Republican, and the 2 being middle of the road.

TOTALS:

10-15 = Democratic, the lower, the more liberal.
16-24 = Usually no preference. Sometimes to the left, sometimes to the right.
25-30 = Republican, the higher, the more religious your views are.

Agian, not perfect, but it's just a mere indicator, and all possible scenarios would make this a nightmare to produce, so remember, it's a guestimate.

What no gun question? I'm for a level of gun ownership that most Republicans would run away from! :D

Heh, I got 19.

I can't believe how anyone could choose 3 on any of those questions. It just seems inhumane.

18. Not surprising--I don't align myself to either or any party.

And yeah, most of the (3) answers are absurd.

The Hollywood actor question seems pretty crappy.

I scored 20 and I am centrist with a left leaning while having one or two right wing idelogies.

Pro gay, pro gun, anti big business, anti illegal immigration, pro choice, pro "buy american whenever you can", anti "buy cheap crap from China", anti foreign intervention.

I got 19 but thought some of the options a bit limited and also far too american, theres no option to be a socialist unlike what we have here in Europe.

I scored 20. A few I really didn't agree with any of the choices, namely, the hollywood one. Question is irrevant. Their views shouldn't matter. They are just people just like us. The welfare one I also didn't like too much. Welfare is much too common. Many kids who grow up on welfare will just end up on welfare when they're adults because they don't know better. All welfare cases need to be monitord more closely as well so lazy people and people who don't even bother to try and fix their economic problems (usually due to buying things they can't afford), need to have their welfare taken away. If you go on welfare, you shouldn't be allowed any luxuries.

Bullshit. There are perfectly sound reasons to be stuck on welfare for years at a time and you don't have any right to tell those people where to spend their cash.

Yeah, Hollywood ought to be irrelevant. Somehow they're just not. I'm looking for a way to blame magic or religion for that, but I just can't invent one. I'll just blame Americans instead. ;)

time and you don't have any right to tell those people where to spend their cash.

I do when they spend tax money on HD TVs, new cars, Video games and bullshit like that don't need. If you go on welfare, you should damn well NEED it. Not just go on it because you can't spend your money on your needs instead of your wants.

They should spend their money on helping them get off welfare and should be strongly encouraged to get out of welfare.

Technically they could need the money bigtime and still find ways to live on it AND spend it on TVs and games. Those things don't actually cost that much. The lack of oversight for things and proper coordination of relevant social programs is a mostly different problem that would probably require both more money and institutions not run by fools, as most government things tend to be. Those would likely help cause more responsibility, but you'd still end up with welfare people getting TVs and that's fine too. Now of course some people just plain abuse the stuff. When caught doing that they should get prison -- "with work" as the Japanese like to term it. So should politicians, though. In fact, the punishment for them abusing their office should be far worse. Prison with disfigurement maybe.

I don't think all those questions are relevant in determining which party you agree with. I also think the answers to all the questions aren't perfect, some other questions should be included. But then again no test will be perfect in determining your party alliance.

As far as the gun issue is concerned. I think any normal citizen should have the right to own a gun. Obviously in some cases such as people with a criminal history, this right should be taken away. Kennesaw, GA is the perfect example of why every homeowner should have a gun.

owning a home doesnt actually guarantee a person is free from homicidal tendencies.
