I thought it was total crap. It wasen't very gory or well written. And the story semed to jump from place to place. Also they made Doom guy out to be some idiot who used the phrase. Yours truly every five seconds. Like they couldn't have had him use some other line. The worst of them all. They added a freaking love interest give me a break. The only company Doom guy needs is his weapons. He is a killing machine with no feelings. And it was stupid to give him a female side kick. Or any side kick for that matter. I just thought it was terrible. I couldn't finish reading it. The movie was way better. Which I own the uncut one on DVD.

Doom movie? Good? No. Just no.
The book did what any good novelisation of a game would do, retread through the original story while changing a few things to keep it from being just a review of everything you'd already seen. I'm not much for sidekicks either but can you imagine how stale the book would have gotten without any human interatction whatsoever?
Anyway stop making these pointless threads plaz. I smell XgmX a-brewin'.

Er. There's a lot more than just one Doom novel. You are speaking of Knee Deep in the Dead, of course. I'm still in the process of reading it, and I think it's pretty entertaining. Incredibly cheesy, but way better than the stupid ass doom movie.

No need for a snooty attitude. I'm just expressing how I feel about something. If you don't like it no need to say anything.

And replying to nomad. Yes it was very cheesy. I just never finished it becasue I didn't like it. But if you do it's cool. And there was four books. I'm just glad I didn't waste my money on the others.

*cough*
It's just that the thread itself was sort of pointless, not the post. Making a whole thread that's just some vauge, immature rant about how the movie version of something is better because there was more blood doesn't seem like a very good breeding ground for discussion.

Fine thread is fine, but silly original post is silly.

I'm just expressing my feelings on the book. If you don't like my post just ignore it. And the gore I mentioned about the book. Is just me saying for a media called Doom that is based of the game. You expect it to be violent and bloody. Like how the movie was. I'm not saying the violence defines the whole thing. Over all I just didn't like it. Just becasue you see someting one way doesn't mean I do. Different people see it different ways. Your calling me immature when you keep the conversation open by replying to me. No one is making you reply. You are doing it on your own free will. And typing the word cough over the internet is funny. Why because you actually took the time to type it.

This is the internet. Millions if not billions of people use the internet. Many of them will disagree with you. Get over it.

Yes the female marine he is paired up with. In the book he describes how he loves her and other mushy crap. And in one of the later books the two get married.

I never cared enough to generate enough emotion to give you a sensible reply. So I apologize. If I offended you some how to get a negative reply from you time and again.

It was a nod to your saying "if you don't like it then no need to say anything", because if you'd just apply that motto to your thread making you'd get a lot more replies in the threads you did make.

They get married? In which? I have the first 3. Still need the 4th. I'm assuming it would be in that. Also, if you thought the first was terrible, why would you read the rest?

I thought the movie was based on the novel, minus the love interest (talk about totally wrecking the movie if that was added).
The movie was okay, the best part being the 1'st-person action scese (took about 16 DAYS to shoot it!!).
I have that on Ye olde' HD-DVD (My player does the Amish DVD, Olde' HD-DVD, and Blu-Ray).

My friend gave me those books because he was sick of seeing them on his shelf. I can't bring myself to read them. I have too much real sci-fi to read.

I'm still only about half way through the first book. It's amusing, but really not that good.

Wow... I've had all four books for a few years now and I only made it to Chapter 10 in the first book. I thought I was just bad attention span wise when it came to reading books but now I see that the book really is just poorly written. I still love them tho.

They are very poor books but they are VERY good. The Doom 3 series of books will be better. Right now, only book 1 exist. Hopefully, more will be written soon! It's vveeeeerrrryy good. Probably because this series actually has a story to go on :P

I saw a book with the movie's cover to it. Is that the book you are talking about?
