Yes, but nothing has been recorded yet. The guy goes by his alias "Dimaension X (http://www.last.fm/music/Dimaension+X)" is going to make his own versions of DOOM and DOOM 2's music. You can find examples of his work linked from his blogspot page over at http://dimaensionxblog.blogspot.com
And I was the one to suggest these ideas for his next project, which are all free for download if you check the links within his blog page. :)
