Haha, I was just seeing this on TV a few minutes ago. Bush did a good job. He was dodging that first shoe like a Matrix character. :D
I find it kind of laughable that when the journal man wanted to throw something, his first instinct was being to take off his shoes and throw those. Strange things sure happen in the world sometimes.

I find it more funny that the TV station he worked for started whining about it being a freedom of speech issue. Somehow I think there's a difference between speech and potentially smashing somebody in the face with a size-ten shoe! :D

Bush did do quite a nice job avoiding the shoes. I wonder if he's had practice in other venues.

Yeah, I read in the paper that showing the heel of your shoe is an insult and throwing your shoe is like the highest possible insult. That's why you see the Iraqi's hitting the toppled statue of Saddam in the face with the heels of their shoes.
