Yeah, I'm a game show freak. Always had been, always will be.
Been watching TPIR religiously since about 1975 (Yeah, I am old). The Showcase Showdown was a new concept, and the show became an hour long.
As for Drew, I think he's actually doing okay. No problems with him, I'm just used to Bob.
The set is something that takes a little time to get used to. Looks like a cheezy Telemundo game show in some ways, but I'm warming up to it.
They wrecked the theme song, but there's one thing that didn't change:

It's basically a show where people guess the price of some super fancy luxury item and if their guess is close enough they win the item.
Don't care for it.

I'd vote if there were a selection for being indifferent to it. Can't beat Bob Barker, but the show was old a long time ago.
It would have been deliciously ironic if Craig Ferguson had become host of the show. I can imagine the Vampire jokes even now. (I bet Raptor Jesus is the only person here who would have a vague idea of what I'm talking about, sadly.)

(I bet Raptor Jesus is the only person here who would have a vague idea of what I'm talking about, sadly.)Interesting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Ferguson)...Ferguson's show is taped in the same building as The Price Is Right, formerly hosted by Bob Barker.[12] For several weeks in 2006, Craig expressed an obsession with vampires and joked that Barker was a vampire who would "kick his ass" one day.
On July 14, 2006, Barker, announcer Rich Fields, and some of Barker's Beauties appeared on The Late Late Show. During the show, Barker claimed he'd heard that Craig said very nice things about him, and went on to make fun of the value of Craig's desk, pricing it at $9 before breaking it with a karate chop. The Price Is Right beauties then proceeded to "finish it off" with claw hammers. Barker later made a guest appearance on The Late Late Show and presented Ferguson with a portrait of himself, complete with vampire fangs for the new set. Barker appeared on Ferguson's show to talk about his retirement this year after 35 years as host of The Price Is Right.
Ferguson continues to make vampire references to Bob Barker, especially near Halloween. An October, 2007 comedy bit used photos of various celebrities to illustrate typical Halloween creatures (skeletons, zombies, etc.) as seen in Hollywood. Barker's photo was displayed when Ferguson mentioned vampires.Craig Ferguson's great. My girlfriend and I did some audience work for a while (not a bad night out, and we got paid cash as well!), and we worked on the Craig Ferguson show a few times. His monologues were long and brilliant, he was genuinely funny during the breaks, and he had really good musical guests, compared to some of the other shows we worked on (like Carson Daly).

Now that is a show that is worthy of its own thread. But, I'll just hijack this one.
Craig Ferguson is indeed a genuinely funny guy. I really hope that he gets to take over the Late Show when Letterman retires in the next couple years. He might actually get some more recognition, and he definitely deserves it.
His "Rather Late Programme with Prince Charles" skit is so hilarious. For those of you who haven't seen, A sample (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjwUdWJ-H48) (linky).
Oooh, I found a clip of Barker destroying Craig's desk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQL6B-t_728). :D
