Hey everyone,

First time poster on here but long time player of the Doom series.

To start off on my old pc I used to have Ultimate Doom, Doom II and Final Doom plus tons of other level add ons and editors... but unfortunate enough that pc crashed on me and never worked again. *angry*

As of now I'm using a MacBook Pro and I have Doom Legacy on it. However I still get the bug to play Final Doom since the first 2 games are too easy. *cool*

Does anyone here know where I can buy a cheap copy of Final Doom for a Mac, or even any good torrents for a Mac version?? Seen many torrents for the pc version but none for Mac. I have already done a lot of searching on my own and haven't had any luck. Thank you for any help.

First of all, don't come asking for torrents or anything like that, the mods don't like it much.

You mention you have legacy already. That should be able to play Final Doom fine under Mac.

EDIT: Found you A mac version of Legacy. http://legacy.newdoom.com/downloads.php#mac

Do not ask for torrents, big no no. You'll be lucky not to be banned when a mod see's you've been asking for one.

And there is no such thing as a Mac version. If you have a Mac version of a modern Doom port all you need is the original .WAD file. So far as I know Mac doesn't need a separate file format for Doom's main data file.

Wow I think I might go cry in a corner if I got banned from here lol... jk

But on a more serious note, thanks for the heads up I won't bother asking for a torrent if that kind of stuff isn't allowed here.

So you guys are saying that I can run Final Doom on my Mac as long as I have the .wad files and Legacy (which I already have).

I forgot to mention that I do in fact have the tnt.wad and plutonia.wad files on my computer that I downloaded a while back from a pc version. I just can't figure out how to make them open. How should I go about this?

Yes, as long as you have the .wads and Legacy on your PC you should be able to run them.

What I normally do is take the wads and drag them off my Doom CD and dump them in the folder with Legacy. After that it should be a case of running the Legacy launcher and setting your tnt.wad, plutonia.wad, etc and running the game. There's a place in the launcher where you set the game Iwads. But that's if the Mac version of Legacy is any different to the Windows version, which I doubt. Try asking in the Legacy forum and see what the mods there can do for you. They are the ones who make the port after all. ;)

I thought the mac only ran shareware doom.

Ok I got tnt and plutonia to work by dropping them in my Legacy folder but it just displays it in a tiny 400x300 window that I can't move my mouse out of haha this sucks. How can I get it running full screen. I tried changing the video settings within doom but it only changes what is in my little 400x300 window.

Hmmmm, I can't help you with that. I think now is the time to ask in the Legacy forum. You'll find the Legacy forum on the main forum page. :)

Read the thread, Dani. He already owns it.

You guys can be such dicks sometimes. And remember who that is coming from!
