Doom in a few words

Just out of curiosity - if someone would hear you mentioning the word "Doom" and ask you what is "Doom' - what you'll answer him that would be the most descriptive yet short "Doom" definition that could depict "Doom" in most truthful yet "attractive" way?

I'd like to quote an eloquent post by chilvence from an old DW thread where the "Doom feeling" was discussed.

I know the feeling. It calls me. It's a free flowing ballet of calculated destruction. It is the rapturous dance from demon to demon, gracefully pummeling their exposed flesh with carefully orchestrated blasts of red hot buckshot. It is the hopeless screams of the souls of the damned as they succumb to the mechanical song of the chainsaw. It is jilted, psychotic, yet serene, masterful. It is power, retribution, and defiance.

A bit too artsy for a "definition", perhaps, but it would leave the person asking you with something to think about. :-)

Basically the game throws you into a series of rooms with health and ammo in each one, and you go into every room consecutively killing the monsters in each one, collecting new sick ass weapons like shotguns and rocket launchers until you get to the exit switch. You basically do the same thing every time so you dont really need a brain to play it. The game doesn't really have a true storyline so you are kind of forced to make it up as you go. But it's a real blast I'd totally reccomend it.

Alright, an update:

It's an FPS. A damn good one. Made of pure kick-ass. If you don't play it, you'll be missing out on a damn good ass-kicking game.
