I'll Post comments later.
Have fun, and thanks for playing :)
[edit] well, meh, that wont happen cause I lose edditing abilities after a certain time so meh. Ill just make a new thread for my texture wad.

Only had time for a quick run through, so I've probably missed some things. Noticed a few floor textures off the 64x64 grid, but other than that it looks very nice. I like the way it carries on the continuity of the theme from the first map but still has a visual distinctiveness of it's own. Not sure if map02 is a bit early in the mapset to be introducing Archviles or not. I'll have to give it a more thorough playtest at a later point to comment properly on gameplay.

So far I like it.
Only thing I noticed (aside from the floor misalignments as DooMAD mentioned) is that the stairs down by the magma-moat (triggered by the red-brick skull switch) in the yellow key area build backwards. And there's a HOM at around (200, 3000) but I assume that's because you're adding something there.
I will say though that one gripe I have is with the yellow key. It took me several minutes to figure out what I was supposed to do to get it and then several attempts before I actually managed to get on the lift (which pretty much required a perfect run with an immediate start at it). And the fact that you can't get off the lift once it goes up, but again I'm guessing that's a progress thing.
Other than that it's looking really good so far. Now finish it, you! ;)

Sweet, very glad you like it. Anyways, The lift thing is in progress... I will frame it and possibly the building and the switch in yellow key textures, to avoid confusion on what your supposed to do.
Also, can you or DooMAD tell me where these floor misalignments are? they may not be intentionall or something.*owell*
Anyways I am really glad that you 2 like it. Now I just have to screw with it a bit, put in the beginning to map03 in there and also get some balancing tested(that can be played with later when this mega wad is a whole)

The one misalignment that stood out to me was the one on the teleporter pad when you first enter the area with the keys. I don't remember if there were others but I don't have time to check at the moment, maybe I'll check this afternoon...
Also I forgot to add before that for some reason this map lagged quite a bit. It wasn't to an unplayable extent but it was a bit distracting. Not sure what would cause it, though.

yeah, thanks.
The problem with the FPS is the number of linedefs on screen at once I think....
Not 100% shure, just take a look in the edditor at the beginning heh. I HAVE YET TO TEST IT IN BOOM, so if it does not then Ill fix the sector count.... some how... heh.... heh... heh.... *funnynot*
Thanks again though ace.

If I load the map with res9 or the pre-(9-21) wad I get a segment violation, if I run it with "Res9_MAC" it can't find a flat. Help?

Heh, isn't this thing supposed to be cross-port compatible?
MR_ROCKET
November 3rd, 2007, 04:10 PM
Well it is, and Legacy is also for the most part, but authors wanted to use voodoo dolls so we sort of had to rule Legacy out because of that. :/
And being Boom specific this also rules out Jdoom.
By compatibility tests, all maps should run in prboom.
If a map doesn't run in prboom for some reason, then the author will have to fix that.

Yeah prboom compatability is nice to have on the lowest level.
Rocket: Empty your PM inbox, also, get on #legacy. :P

How can Macro be an NDCP member if he was banned? Or better than that, how could be banned if he is an NDCP member? What he did?

I do find it odd that he was banned considering he hasn't left the NDCP forums in 2-3 months.

Yeah that is weird, I wonder why or what he was banned for?
Or is it a hoax?
I still haven't got around to looking at his map02 though lol. :|
Anyways I will..did it merge ok into the mega?

Well on forums when you ban a member, the moderator can leave a message saying why and how long until it expires.
He said it was "None" and "Never". So whoever banned him apparently thinks he committed some grave infraction warranting a ban from these forums for all eternity.
Considering the thread in which he was banned for was deleted, I think it's only fair that the moderator who did it steps up and explains why.

That makes me wonder, how could he slip a PM into my PM box this November 3rd?. I guess he was banned just yesterday???.

There was some thread on the review section asking about AlysiumX, but as Dani or I has to approve the thread before it shows, he posted it on an existing discussion thread, which was cool. I deleted the thread attempt afterwards.
I do not know how this would have an effect on anything, but I just thought it was worth pointing out. The ban is a small mystery to me too. He seemed like a fine chap.

Well, he PMd me asking about AlysiumX too, just yesterday... I guess the easiest solution if just politely asking Phoebus (I think he's the only one who can ban, Am I right?) about it... Anyway, I think I could forward him the mail adress he was looking for (Alysium's) as I think both guys used to talk in the forums.
So, who's gonna ask ;)??.
Also, hey Fatal, Rocket, people, long time no see :).

That is exactly it. He said that after that he went to bed, woke up, found himself banned.

I thought any moderator could ban people I'm surprised he got banned he didn't seem to be the kind of guy who does things against the rules.

I'm almost banned (in the sense that I hardly have the time to regularly post ;D) but I think I could ask Phoebus about this. Who knows?. Maybe there was something we didn't see at all...

Hey, yeah I do not want to shoot for legacy, simply because as it is the random zmalloc errors make it hard to play, and that and voodoo dolls are going to be in 2.0, so could we not just get a couple of people to make a legacy 2.0 release when legacy2.0 is out?
I fuigure that would be easiest, as I and 'possibly' (don't quote me) others have all ready mapped their maps with boom compatibility in mind. I personally plan on running my map in boom to make sure it works properly. As for Vis plane Overflow errors, I will check for that as well on boom.
And now for the banning... the best way to describe that would be: "forgetaboutit"*plub* I am sure a smart person may be able to piece together what happened if they were inclined, but as far as I am concerned it was my understanding coupled with my lack of understanding, piled up on top of quick action by said mod//admin, who ever does banning. That person explained to me my erroneous actions and I now understand them and promise that I will not do what I did again.
sorry, and thanks for caring guys :) I WUB U ALLLZ*weird*
