Yahoo has ranked DooM as one of the most controversial games in the last 15 years. So what's new, eh?

Read about it here (http://videogames.yahoo.com/feature/controversial-games/530593).

Yahoo is ranked among top 10 shittiest sites?

How about a top ten list of idiots blaming electronic games for being naughty?

Night trap I think was the first ever game to be rated M by ESRB.

I'm not surprised that Mortal Kombat made the list. I laughed when I saw Postal on the list, that game was brutal haha. I think the later few such as Resistance, fall of man, and Bioshock are weak though.

Uh? Why isn't "Custer's Revenge" on there? It stirred up a massive shit storm back in the eighties.

I like how people cite Doom's "satanic imagery", yet fail to notice that in the game you are fighting against the forces of hell. Doomguy is the ultimate holy crusader.

That was longer than fifteen years ago, last I checked.

Oops. My bad. And I absolutely agree on your point about the satanic elements ... the game just tries to depict hell and its inhabitants (since that's where you are, kicking everything's ass), in a non-glorifying way.

How stupid. And the comments there are so silly.

Ditto, Nomad.

I also like how people don't know what actually went on in Harris's and Klebold's lives at the time. Anti video game activists just wanted to put the blame on something... so once people learned about thier Doom fannage, pop goes the lawsuits.

I'm suprised Halo isn't on the list... After all, you do run around with guns, shooting about every second at whatever the hell moves. Someone will go blast up a school and blame it on Halo at some point...

They should have ranked Pac man, he teaches children to take steroids. *evilol*

That's because being a scumbag who jumps to conclusions who thinks he "knows why this happened" is the easiest possible way to get on the News and enjoy some publicity, at the expense of making moms everywhere paranoid that video games are "corrupting their children".

Pac Man is not on the list for the same reason "Custer's Revenge" wasn't on there: it wasn't released sometime during the last 15 years. See the posts above. I'm not so sure about the game's ranking on a "controversial" scale, either, but you knew that. ;-)

I have a tiny feeling Yahoo sucks.
This started when I read about the Hot Coffee mod comment.

Edit:
I just glanced over their 'Top-10 games'
The feeling got stronger.
