By the way, id also ripped from a band name. Namely the Doors. Ever wondered why there are so many doors in Doom? Because they liked the name "the Doors" and decided to use it in the game.

Some of the names I used for maps I don't think for very long for an map name some might suck but I don't really care cause I know the map itself will make up for that.

The comma is part of the title. It is important. Just "caller in darkness" wouldn't have so much kick.

It was in dante's inferno, in the last circle of hell, it was some demonic monster that judged the dead or something. I cant remember exactly, but the book described Dis to be pretty vicious looking. Not like the spider demon though.

wasn't it for the City of Dis, in hell? I know the name comes from the Latin root "dis," which you might recognize from words such as disassemble, dismantle, disgorge, etc etc. basically you can be assured any word with "dis" at the beginning is a verb detailing the undoing of something.

Dis is named after the capital city of Hell, that appears in the "inferno" section of The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri.

I saw that ppl in id got many inspirations from this Dante Alighieri's The Divine Comedy...

If its one or two out of an entire language of words its random. Regardless of whether it makes sense. I can pick random words out of the english language and make a sentence, but the probability of being grammatically correct is painfully low.

Well I didn't know it was your map at first. However, Regardless of the words you chose, he did say he liked them, even if we non-latin speakers couldn't interpret what it meant. but would have it made more sense if he said "I just love properly placed latin words" even though he didn't know what it meant? Surely you could tell by his post that he doesn't have a latin tongue.

Underhalls has hallways that are underground
The Waste Tunnels certainly has waste tunnels where the red key is found
Refueling bases had giant gas tanks
The Factory [kinda] looked like a factory
Downtown had buildings
Suburbs had houses and apartment buildings
The Chasm was almost entirely a giant chasm.
Bloodfalls was made of rivers of blood

Even some maps in Doom 1 looked like what they were supposed to if you use your imagination.

I personally like any name that puns off the setting. Or has a fancy schmancy thesaurus way of naming, so that "the entrance of evil stuff" ends up like "The vestibule of dark tidings". :D
