Well, not that anyone could to start with. I know I didn't. However, I think this news report makes it official that Fox News has nothing better to do with their time.

I've seen this already, but I wouldn't say it's useless. People who aren't computer smart (Old folks or my mom, for example) wouldn't know what was going on if thier computer was hacked. It could also warn them of the dangers of going on sites they aren't familiar with.
On a side note, the FBI not doing anything about it was complete Bullshit. Death threats like that aren't to be taken lightly. =/

Well, it happened a week ago. As far as the internet is concerned, that could be 100 years ago.

This is insulting. Just a bunch of noobs who want attention. I've seen this before, nothing ever happens, people just cower before paper threats and hollow fear tactics.
One time I saw a group of idiots on another forum parading around saying "We are the masked people. We're gonna take over the forum and there's nothing you can do about it" Of course they didn't do anything, they were literally a bunch of 10-12 year olds acting out.
The funny thing is, people believed them. *laugh*

Well, that guy found out pretty fast how shallow his girlfriend was! Stupid bitch didn't even ask him. :D
Creepy little bunch of terrorists -- and yes, these ones are terrorists. Pranks are only funny when they're not supremely evil.
Hmm, never dealt with something like this at work. Had a lady who thought she was being hacked like that but she thought the hackers were in every piece of electronics she touched even though she didn't have the net anymore. She's kinda legendary at work as more than one of us have talked with her.
Also had that government dude who thought we were installing spyware and porn on their computers to extort a pile of cash from them via Dell on Call. Idiot.
Of course we get the people who pay for things like WinAntiVirus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WinAntivirus) Pro 2007 and then wonder why they don't work. *bug*
So aside from the retarded clip of the exploding van what exactly is Fox doing wrong here?

The biggest thing that Fox is doing wrong is this sensationalist propaganda they are spewing. For one thing, "Anonymous" is not a "hacker gang," nor is it really even a group of people period. All Anonymous refers to is the fact that everyone who posts on 4chan is completely free to remain anonymous (although IPs are logged). Which, I should add, 4chan is a completely public website--which Faux News claimed that it is one of many SECRET WEBSITES that the HACKER GANGS plan their TERRORISM.
I also like the blatant lie that 4chan contains PAGES worth of hacked passwords. 4Chan is so busy, any content on that site is usually purged within a day.
Puh-fucking-leeze.
Alex Wuori (http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/Alex_Wuori) (their little informant who is recieving death threats), for another thing, is a victim of his own doing. He never had a girlfriend; the girl he describes is someone he asked the Anonymous folks of 4chan to raid because she wouldn't go out with him in the first place. So not only are they lying, their informant is completely full of shit as well. His little plan backfired on him, and he got the raid himself, so he bitched to Faux News to help their little sensationalist bullshit.
The Encyclopedia Dramatica article on Fox News (http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/Fox_News) ought to shed more light on more of the bullshit contained in this segment, if you don't mind wading through all the /b/-tardation.

"Epic LULZ"?
Heheh. Funny.
Was that New Doom at 1:55, or just a site that looks like it?

Pretty much all forums that use vBulletin look the same. It looks like an older version of vB anyway, since it has all of the personal and IM links at the bottom of the post.

They never mention it, but the "SECRET WEBSITE" they show on the computer screens is very, very obviously 4chan.

This is the the most idiotic thing they've done since they did that report about the Ninja Turtle toys.
"The Ninja Turtle toys say on the packaging they will train children. But what exactly are they training them for?"
At least I THINK that was Fox news.

I agree with the title to this thread. Then again, I don't take anything to seriously, especially what's on television. I think TV is more about ratings and mass viewership. It's not the always the truth, it's just turned into a system to convey the belief of your political leader, in which these companies sponsor, who'll will pass laws to make these head-honchos (of mega-corporations) more money. Fox news, to me, is clearly republican, and probably the only one out of all the networks. For numerous years....what political party had the majority of say? Tables are turning now, and even the politicians didn't live up to what they said, even when they used faith as their bases for attracting new party members & voters.

Props to Props you're exactily right! It's just about the money and just to get as many people to watch. I have little time for television ,and even less for polotics. mega-corporations throwing out the most idiotic topics , and screwing up the peaceful little existance of every surburbanite with programs worrying about some guy trying to take his toothpaste on an airplane to fill up an hour of television viewing!

Well, this is garbage news, absolutely worthless news, but hey, it can't be worse than CNN covering "verbal assaults" and Obama whackjobs :)
