I love it when wackos vindicate my opinions about stuff.

Last weekend more than a dozen envelopes bearing the image of skull and crossbones and containing letters threatening the lives of CU-Boulder evolutionary biology professors were slipped under the doors of CU-Boulder buildings….
Several sources say Korn has distributed flyers on campus and has barged into offices of biology professors and administrators in the past year.
But in recent days the threatening e-mails and letters have occurred with increasing frequency and intensity.
On Friday an e-mail sent to CU-Boulder’s evolutionary biology department bore the subject line "a final CU Boulder EBIO appeal” and repeated the line "every true Christian should be ready and willing to take up arms to kill the enemies of Christian society."
That line, as well as “they must go,” have been repeated in a number of communiqués, said a source.

*Ahem* Maybe it's late and I don't understand you fully, but it seems to me that you are saying that one person is writing threatening letters, therefore Christianity is bad. If that's not the case, tell me.
I do not condone this person's behavior. God tells us to love our enemies. Granted, I don't do a great job on that some of the time, but I, and most other Christians, would never dream of doing something like this.

I started at "Christianity is bad." most Christians I know try not to prove me right, but I hear about guys like this maniac and it just helps to strengthen my opinion
but nah, taken along with the thread title I was making a pun.

This is a great example of the negative effects of religions. As I've said, although there are always some same people in the bunch, there are always nutjobs like these who take it too far and cause mischief. This, and the fact that practicing religions is totally unproductive, make the negative effects of religions greatly outweigh the positive ones.

Wow. Well there's religious fanatism for you!

Now religions are getting so fanatical that they will drop fake "million dollar bills" on the ground for people to pick up. When someone finds it and picks it up, they see that it's fake, and are treated with an unpleasant "Hey, you found our dollar, now go to church!" message on the back.
Technically, this is littering. But apparently littering in the name of god is ok. *laugh*

"Thou shalt not kill."
Exodus 20
"Judge not, lest ye be judged."
Matthew 7:1
How convienient for them to forget those two very important tenets when it does not suit thier purpose. I know Satanists that have better morals than some Christians do.

Ahh, very good, this reminds me.
If you go to http://www.churchofsatan.com and specifically look at the eleven rules (http://www.churchofsatan.com/Pages/Eleven.html) and the nine statements, (http://www.churchofsatan.com/Pages/NineStatements.html) you'll see that it is very much these rules and guidelines that are mostly followed. No turning the other cheek or wimpy stuff like that. ;)

Back in the day, Phoebus gave his permission for us to discuss religion in this subforum.

what about the permisiion to plague the entire subforum with it? Seriously, scroll through the first page of politics and look for anything remotely 'political', then scroll through looking for anything remotely religious. Let's see which one wins.

I posted a news story whats the problem with that. people are giving their opinions on the news story given its context - just like every other thread in this subforum. surely if the mods or admin fealt this belonged in the other forum they would have moved it by now - so no backseat moderating!

Religious topics do tend to get pretty political anyway... :p
