View Full Version : Compiling a new Pre-Merge/RES9

Alright, I'm starting to get everything together for a new pre-merge for testing reasons and such. So check the old pre-merge and if the version of your map is outdated, make sure i have a the newest version.

Here is the info for the old Pre-merge.

merged MAP06 COMPLETED - currently has a framerate issue in prboom in a given area..runs fine in zdoom though.

merged MAP08 COMPLETED - Rocket thinks he was going to be updating this one.
merged MAP09 incomplete - close to completion
merged MAP11 COMPLETED
merged MAP12 COMPLETED
merged MAP13 incomplete
merged MAP16 incomplete - Conglom map, gameplay has not yet ben implemented
merged MAP17 COMPLETED
merged MAP18 incomplete
merged MAP21 incomplete - Dani says he has an update soon.
merged MAP25 incomplete
merged MAP27 COMPLETED
merged MAP29 incomplete
merged MAP30 incomplete

I know we now have more completed maps now. This is what I have that was not present in the last pre-merge.
MAP06 - Dated April 07
MAP07 - Dated June 24
MAP09 - Dated July 12
MAP11 - Dated March 11
MAP21 - Dated July 12
MAP25 - Dated April 07
MAP27 - Dated January 30 (I'm not sure if this was the completed version)
MAP29 - Dated March 14
MAP30 - Dated April 4

If you have a newer version of your map or new resources please get them to me.

I would have swore that I solved the issues in Map03 and sent the repaired map your way...

Heh some of those notes are left over from when I compiled res7.
I remember you posting a link Logan, I think it was in the latest progress thread, page 1 or 2?

To slim the confusion on "Rocket thinks he was going to update this one".
I didn't write that, I wrote "I think he was going to be updating this one".
PS changed "I" into "Rocket" and the wording doesn't sound right when reading it, because when you say "Rocket thinks he was going to update this one", it sounds like "I" was going to be updating this one. Which wasn't the case lol.

It was clear enough when it said "I think" instead of "Rocket thinks".
Lol evidently you didn't think at the time that he would be updating this one but you definitely wanted to make sure I thought so. :D

Anyways, something to look back on and laugh about.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! :D

About the Map30, i think he's done. I'm just waiting to see all the Maps done.
Maybe i'll need to change the names on the walls! Add news, remove others. I don't know well.
Anyway, the Map30 can be consider done!
Talking about it, who're the mappers now? I'm a bit losted in this point. Somebody knows?

There is no link, because I haven't finished compiling Res9 yet. Thats why I made this thread to make sure I had everything before I compiled it.

I have the version you sent me dated April07, which was after Res8 was released, I'm pretty sure it's your final version. It was all 3 of your maps in a single WAD with a bunch of graphics and such. You sent it with a new DEH patch. Which I guess I'll have to look over and check it against the current one.

Oh, and if Logan reads this, Check what your most recent version of Map27 is.

hmmm.....maybe that is the last version, i remember fixing it though, and someone else did playtest it....i really don't remember....meh, i am sure its fine-if its that one spot i suppose it won't really effect gameplay too much(i really dread opening up AMADEUS again, lol). as long as the correct textures/ dehacked patches are in everything should be cool.

Ah wow, you told me the final version of map06 was during the time of res7 jetflock.
Oh well the map wasn't crashing the mega wad by the time I was done with res7, hopefully it isn't now...
And hopefully everyone keeps the texture resources in order, because I sure don't want to have to recompile it all again to restore the missing resources from the resource wad like last time.

I just hope things don't go wild with texture names as it happened when the conglom map got to me. Hopefully we'll get it right :).

Exactly, if it wasn't someone changing texture names, it was someone changing the texture and leaving the same name. = bad.
Instead of creating a new texture with a new name which is the way it should have been done in the first place. = good.

Anyways, I'm done belly ache'n for now. :p

I have a question. I also searched the NDCP forum and found nothing... Wasn't there supposed to be a dehacked monster or two? Was that idea scrapped? eh?

There were two custom monsters already implemented and shown in the conglom map, I think. It´s a lot of DEH work so if PS finds the DEH file in the appropriate resource (It seems it was scrapped) the monsters will be there again.

There are two new monsters, they were in RES7, and they were in the last pre-merge.

Yeah not to worry PS has everything to do with that, it just wasn't in the resource.
So it's easy enough to just slap the sucker back in there. ;)

pm me if you need me. yeah rocket, the map you saw was prolly the last but since things go the way they go around here, i had compiled ALL my maps into one package for PS just incase anything went wrong.

RES9 and a new Pre-merge are now completed. I'm having slight trouble uploading them to the server, but once that is resolved they will be available. I'll post a new thread when they are uploaded.

FTP issues should be resolved now.
