When I heard of this map pack, I thought "Hey, this dude actually took some time to recreate his work place.......so maybe I should give it a run through." That was mistake one. Mistake two was thinking absentmindedly that the author would have taken into account the jump feature present in most ports and made certain areas inaccessible while remembering this. Because of such an oversight, I accidentally skipped past two or three areas that should have been necessary to traverse before entering the office building in the first place.

Then came mistake three, as in picking my standard difficulty of 3 I found that even this was a bit overwhelming.......i.e. me with a shotgun against several Soul Reavers/etc=Uh-Oh. Of course, there ARE better weapons, but they are found in the office building and restaurant for the most part, and you have to survive long enough(i.e. crossing a street) to get to them. This is harder than it sounds, believe you me.

Graphics/Lighting: Score: 5/10 - Average
Average use of original Doom 2 graphics in most areas, with a few nice touches here and there......like the Boss's office & the bathrooms.
The doors in the office building were a bit annoying due to choice of a similar texture as that of the adjoining walls, and this fact was added to in that the hallway was near pitch dark at certain points......making it a hit and miss grope in the dark situation at that point.
Lighting in most areas was "adequate", except in the above mentioned location(s), but by no means spectacular.

Weapon/Health Placement: Score: 4.5/10 - Fair
As I said earlier, there is an average amount of both health based items and weapons in this installment, but you may have to claw your way from room to room or dodge a hail of heavy metal/hellfire to get them at one point or other.

Monster variety/placement: Score: 4.5/10 - Fair to middling
Yes, there are monsters to fight......or as the game calls them, cops and co-workers to vent your anger and frustrations on. The one problem is that they are mainly of the slightly tough to overtly tough variety, and are of massive numbers on the highest difficulties......making Nightmare mode very challenging, even for veterans to Doom.
They are also tightly grouped.....meaning you may be in one "safe" area and choose to step forward several paces, and you'll find yourself face to face with a pack of Soul Reavers.

Praises - A recreation, albeit oddly done, of a doomer's environment. Nice bathrooms, Boss room.
Cons - Several see-thru wall bugs in front of the office building, and in back of the mexican restaurant. Jumping in the newer ports allows one to bypass several rooms and skip neraly to the end. Too many monsters for most players on the highest difficulty.
Important Notes:
The blue key door is behind the restaurant, found by pushing the skull switch high on the wall. Only listing this as some may think they should jump into the office building through the front windows.......which is a BAD IDEA for those who like to clean out every room and not miss anything.
Notes: Not worth noting much.....except maybe the boss's "pets", and the exit.

Nope, that isn't a toilet...or is it?

Now you know why I hate going to mexican restaurants.

Unfortunately, this view is WITH nightvision......and that isn't just a wall.
