Port: DoomII.
Single Player, Coop, Death Match.
November 1995.
One Map.
Reviewer: Steve88.
Port used: Open GL Doom Legacy, although when you save at the Monster spawner and try to load from a save you get and error.
Score: 6.5
Overview- This wad starts you off in the map30 area of the original doom2, after that its completely different. I must say I had a great deal of fun playing this wad. It was not overly challenging, but it was not easy. The design of this level was decent, especially considering its a 1995 wad.
Difficulty- 7 This wad had a delicate balance of ammo and little health. This wad requires you to use much strategy to have enough ammo to complete, you have to constantly make the decision to fight or flee. It gets real hairy when you get to the part with the monster spawner, if youre not quick and keep your wits about you, its over. SAVE often I cannot stress that enough. Doom Gods I think will probably breeze through, us average doomers should have a little trouble, and you doom noobs I would not even recommend this for.
Design- 6 I give this a six partially because it is great for being a great 95 wad, but I give it only a six because it did not surprise me at all, were are the traps, I found one that I can recall, which ended up being completely obvious. I did not find any real flaws in this level, it flowed very smoothly other that a few walls that you would not expect require to be shot to open, they warn of this in the text file. What I did though love about the levels is the feeling of being in very large rooms that make you feel small. I love those.
Replay ability- 6 this wad I only gave a 6 for replay ability because it has somewhat of a linear path, and only one difficulty level, but I have to admit that I would likely play this more then once, if had nothing better to do.
Last Rant: I did thoroughly enjoy this level and the way it all come together, you should play this even if only once.
Pr0s-
It is undoubtedly fun and keeps you interested
Nice balance of health and ammo
C0ns-
Lacked traps among other things
Failed to deliver any real surprises
