Overall Review Score: 6
The second installment(If you want to call it that.) in Frank Polster's little series leaves off where Rim 1 ended. You are stuck in some weird research facility that looks a bit like something Alfred Hitchcock may have barfed up on a sick day in some places........although there are a few good points to it(Listed below).
Supposedly it's an "homage" to some Aliens(Tm Amblin?) book......but I dunno. Guess you;d have to be a fan, and READ (alot) to get most of the gist of it. I'd play it maybe once if you're bored, and/or if you read Aliens: Labyrinth (Tm Who knows?).
Some areas have consoles, which I HAD to point out, which may activate something you need to progress further in some rooms. I mention this only because the player may otherwise get stuck somehow because they didn't press something they should have at some point, and we all know how frustrating that can be.

Graphics/Lighting: Score: 6/10 - Slightly better than average
In this installment from the mind of Mr. Polster, we can see that the author improved a bit in his mapping.....as evidenced by the flag flying from the main complex, the helipad, and a few other rooms. Not much, but it is noticeably better. The only gripe I had was that of the bland outer complex wall textures like the ones from Rim.wad, and YES.....there were more graphical "loopholes", in that you could see through seams between walls. This being most noticeable around the "Kodak"(You'll see) building exterior......and in a few upper rooms in the main building.
Lighting is also average in this installment, most likely because the author spent some wisely invested time improving his "lacking" points. All in all, this all gives this category a 6.

Weapon/Health Placement: Score: 5.5/10 - Average joe
Again, weapons/ammo and health/armor are scarce......to the point where you will have to resort to pistol whipping any enemy(Think Baron of Hell or similar) you come across if you don't watch your ammo count. This isn't to say that it didn't improve since Rim 1, as it did slightly, via the addition of a few item placements here and there for flavor.

Monsters & placement: Score: 5.5/10 - Average jim
Monsters are here, though not in any impressive quantity. Placement is limited to a few rooms, mainly in the nearby buildings.....although there is one room where you may have to save before you leap(Again, you'll see.). It is key to note that NO monsters will appear unless you have the difficulty at Hurt me plenty or higher, so keep it cranked up unless you just want to take a sightseeing tour for "fun".

Praises - Better graphical "detail" than Rim 1. Larger map size to explore, and a colored actual map with the DL zip file.
Cons - Still some graphical bugs. Not many enemies. Scant item palcement.
Bugs - No bugs, besides the graphical anomalies......but no enemies are present on the two lowest difficulties.
Comments: Does this really deserve any, past the review? I don't think so.
