Unfortunately, unlike I had suspected, this wad isn't any better from the last one, and I could even say that it's a bit worse, because it's levels are far more dull and don't have much to give, while fort2.wad was really fun to play and explore. The main reason why fort 3 is worse than the last one is that all of the levels are tubes. There's no room for extra exploration. All the levels have the same concept. The player first goes to get one key only to come back a bit and then again get further on the map, eating up the replay value. The level takes place in some sort of tech base, but almost none of the areas are recognisable except for some dock area and the reactor core, and even that had to be hinted by a text on the floor. Computer terminals and some sort of other machinery were here and there, but nothing really impressive was to be found.

The levels were rather short, and the fourth level is basically just a boss fight. While the first level was quite cool, the latter ones didn't feel to play very well. They were either incredibly short or had a stupid design. The first one, however, was a quite nicely designed level. The last level was just a tunnel to an arena where the player meets a cyberdemon. That battle was also very easy, as the player had shitloads of weapons and ammunition at the time.

Monsters were yet again on the sissy level, as there were only a few places with monsters more difficult than the chaingunner. One thing was really bugging me. The beginning was made incredibly hard when compared to the latter parts of the wad because of scarce ammunition. Then later on ammo is being pushed to the player like candy to a spoiled brat. No intense fights occurred because of the low difficulty, and again, the easiness is the main problem yet again.

Visually this map was rather nice when we count out the fact that still all the textures were misaligned. There were paths and roads outside, technical instruments inside. I liked especially the first level's areas overall. The level looked rather realistic, and made it feel the nicest map of the lot. The other two levels introduced only one or two interesting places, and thus didn't really have much to give. The fourth level was mostly plain, except for the very start when the player is in a tunnel.

Don't get this map. If you want a better example of the author's work, try Fort 2. It has so much better level design that this wad looks stupid when compared to it. Even though Fort 3 is a bit more detailed, the difference isn't that great. I hope that the author shows more improvement on Fort 4.

Plus:
- Some areas looked nice
Minus:
- Too easy
- Textures are still unaligned
- Tube like levels.
- Horrible Ammunition placement
- No lighting effects

Even I couldn't think of a smart caption for this screenshot

The reactor area is dull.

And then there's the must-have cyberdemon fight.
