Carpodeathia is a level made by Piotr 'Tomaha' Tomaszewski. The level features a very small layout and a great mix of rock and tech textures. Its quake 2 theme fits it gameplay quite well, although it would have been better if the map was larger. Gameplay suffered a massive hurting, the level is just too small to bring about a great game. Overall I believe this map would serve for a deathmatch or two but there isn't really anything too exciting about it.

Layout - 5

This layout takes place in a base that is surrounded by rock. While very small layout suggest that the level might be an alright bout for one on one, the three and four player deathmatch suffer, anymore than two would be all out fragfest. The Rocks around are also used for weapons the super shotgun, and rocket launcher to be specific, both of which must be teleported to making telefrags possible. Another punishing fact is that you can pretty much see the whole map from the middle of it, meaning no places to run, hide, or expect the unexpected. This level does have a very solid fitting theme, not finding anything that is out of place. The mixing of textures was done really well, giving the level depths without going out of theme. Lighting is used with experience, casting some good shadows and giving more realism to the level.

Music fits quite well, would fit better if the gameplay wasn't shot by the small size.

Gameplay - 3

The cramped style of this map very well killed any good gameplay aspects of killing your opponents, being that your opponents really have no room to dodge or even recuperate after vicious attacks from pursuers. Weapon placements are nice, having two super shotguns really kept the game going. Lots of health laying around the level coming out to about 120 worth in medkits and stimpacks. An addition of a sludge pool near the middle of the map seemed pretty pointless other than to get on peoples nerves as they run across it and lose a life point or ten. The bottom of the level seems to also have no purpose other than using the teleports, your really can't get up any other ways, which means that if the other player is up top, then you will be telefragged.
