It's now May, so time for a new thread. I counted 13 completed maps. Make sure your update your progress info in this thread. Secondly, I will be making Res 9(a final resource version hopefully) at the end of next week. So make sure I have everything you need before its compiled (which will be about a week from now).

Well... Just so you know, if all goes well, map 02 will be done this month.

The next map will take a lot longer tho. Just a fair warning. I AM STILL WORKING THO!

I'm just all ways working on allot of maps at once.
Right now I am detailing 2 maps for a project that STILL isn't done because of imo incompetent management.... >_> (1m-wad for **2006* yeah.... its not 2006 >_>)
Those wont take more than a day since I'm getting really fast at it.
I have dropped my Skulltag co-op map because I found out that the aim of the project was for 8 players... "Fuck that"
Finally I have a Domination map for SMII, that will be pushed behind my ndcp2 maps.

So all in all Its looking pretty good for progress, since I map every day now.

This is what I need done for map02 ::
11 rooms, Monster//ammo//health added, Beta testing both sp and co-op. Its easy enough... >_>

Finally I have to say that I might have some one for map 20, so if you could possibly hold that spot for a tiny bit and ill pm you later PS :) if not, then thats cool too...

I installed XP on my Win2K machine and need to reinstall Doom Builder and all my Doom junk.... so my progress is the same as before, whatever that was. 80%? Hard to remember. :p Hopefully I'll be able to put that stuff back on here this weekend.

okay guys, once i buy a flash drive to temp. replace my burner, i can upload the beginning of the second conglom map(map20). should be this weekend. i will start a thread soon-so whoever wants in, be prepared. i suppose i will overlook its construction unless pumpkin would rather do the honors.

Anywhom, Im updating here to confirm that a User named Mechadon will be signing up for map slot 20 if thats allright for you all.. he just needs to get on newdoom to make an account and all that shizz.

Just wondering, is there something special we are supposed to do with the textures with our names on them? I through the one with Raptor Jesus on it in the opening room. Just wondering.

Those textures were being used in Map30 by Logan.

Map completion at 34%.

As he said, I'd like to take the Map20 slot, if that's ok. If needed, I can provide some examples of my previous mapping works. Just...PM me or something with any information you might need from me.

Ahh I'm still working, just finding it a bit hard to get into it for more than just an hour or so at a time. But getting pretty well done, about 55% now I should think. The times that I actually do get around to mapping I get a fair bit done, even if only for an hour or two at a time.

Might have it done this month, but most likely sometime next. :)

Sounds great Mechadon. Just let me know the title of the map when you make one up. And don't take any longer to get it done than everyone else, which still looks like a long while. Oh and welcome aboard.

Awesome! Glad I'm able to help you guys out ^^

About how long do I have to complete a map? I'm running a pretty large Skulltag project at the moment, but I can put this map at the top of my list if need be (SMII can wait anyways, its going to take a while to finish).

Still 35%ish. >_<

This is the last major week of coursework I have for this semester. Next week is finals. After that I SHOULD be able to work a little more. I won't lie, though, I'm having a bit of mapping block whenever I try to work on it now. I'll keep you all posted, though. <_>

Anyways, Awesome looking shots up there Mechadon !

And Macro, if there is a res9 hopefully it wont be for awhile lol
Reason being there should be more than enough textures in res8 to work with at that It's probably not good to put to many more in the resource, for stability reasons I'm sure there's a limit heh.
But eventually there will be a res9 version derived from one last pre-merg before the final mega compilation. - of course we'll need the rest of the maps received first though.

Is there really some sort of limit, in terms of wad space? Aside from having an undesirably large download size I didn't think there were actually any consequences of using too many textures...


Also, while it doesn't have anything to do with my own map's progression (which is the same as usual--none ;)), I thought I'd like to mention that I have been working on the Conglom for the past week. I finally got around to finishing and texturing all that I have done so far, so mapping-wise I'm about half-done with my area. I'm hoping I can get this thing done and over with two weeks from now. But I promise not to make any promises on that one--and that's not a promise! :p

So yeah, I seem to be more-or-less out of the rut I was in before, so I should be getting more done now. Just to let everyone (particularly PS and Rocket) know.

When you finish up, send it over to me or PS. I remember a tag I needed to fix in my area also.

About too many textures, well really I'm not sure. I'v never had to dump more than 1000 resource entries into a wad.
The more modern sourceports most likely wont have a problem with it, but I'm sort of thinking prboom might. I'm almost sure there would be a stability limit somewhere along the line, even if there is no such thing as a resource limit.
I'll have to investigate the matter.

Also, rocket have you cleaned out your PM box? and sorry for trying to sign you up for fixing up that map, I just don;t know who else to ask. Its all right now, 1 map wont kill the project i'm sure.
