Hi Folks...
I am in the assembling stages of building a team that will convert the Doom 2 sprites to Hi-Resolution. Now, that I have the clearence from Id Software, I'm out recruiting folks that may possibly have graphics editing experience or are interested enough to learn. If you would take a little time to visit us, just to have a look around, that would be cool. Please visit us at: http://dooming.21.forumer.com/ and visit the sub-forum "Hi Res Sprites". While you're there, look around there's some interesting subjects, maybe you'd like to register, we're a new forum.

I was asked by a member on another forum, "What method are we using to achieve our success?" Answer:
First what you do is to download the sprites. http://nash.wanzafran.com/doomstuff/scaled-4x.zip The sprites have already been prepared for us, they have already been extracted and resized to 4x on alpha transparent background, thanks to "Nash" at Zdoom. All team members will be working from the same set of sprites.
Pelle123, our graphics leader is using PSP X and using the "smudge tool" application to achieve the results you are seeing beinging displayed at out forum. Most of us don't have the abilities like Pelle as of yet, actually we're all working on it. They the sprite is sent to me, then I'll apply a mild gamma correction then apply the "unsharp masking" application using "PhotoZoom Pro 2". It's at this point we're posting some of these as finished, until all of them are done. Once this ocurrs, our "DECORATE" member will write the file to have these sprites displayed at .25, back to their original size during gameplay, then we will start our beta-testing phaze.
This is a short synopsis covering how we are approaching this mission. I hope that this will interest you enough to want to join us.
