Hi.
What is the best programs to convert sound files to Doom MUS format? and which formats I can convert? Midi? Mp3?
What are the limitation if any of length, size and sample rate of music files? what is the best program to insert those in?

You don't have to since Vanillia Doom (I believe since 1.5) and hence Dday, Zdoom etc, reads midi's (I don't know about Doom95 though).
But if you must convert, do a goggle search for "Mid2Mus".

And you can't convert anything other than MIDI music. It works on a completely different principle from recorded music.

Thanks.
So I'll use midi's only :)
Are there any other sound formats that can be coverted to Midi by some program?
But how do I replace Doom 2 music? I just put midi file in under the same name?

In the case of Vanilla Doom (unless you use a deh file to change the name), yes. The music tracks in the wad are listed in map order (i.e D_RUNNIN is Map01 and D_ULTIMA is Map32).

Well, in theory you could convert the music from just about any old game that uses MIDI-like synthesis. Lots of games basically used MIDI but messed with the format. For example, the HMI files found in some old games by Bethesda Softworks can easily be converted to MIDI files and used.

Greetings DoomJedi!
What are you trying to do, my friend? Still working on Build to Doom conversions? "acm2wav" will give you everything but the music. Do you know what format it is in? Chances are there is a way to convert it - maybe.
If you want to convert an .ogg or .mp3 to .wav/.midi then give up! There are programs that claim the ability to do this, but you won't like the results!
If you have some cool midi you want to use to replace Doom music, then "midi2mus" will work in most cases and you only need to rename it to the one you want to replace.
There is a limitation of channels (I think) that prevents me using a perfect orchestral midi rendering of Beethoven's 5th as "D_RUNNIN".
