video card error

hello I am new here to this forum and also an avid Doom fan, My question is this after getting my computer wipeclean of years of junk I install doom again and I can only get as far as a screen that says

Error the current video card driver combination does not support the nessary features. And from there i am lost the only thing I can think of is if I try to find the quick tweak nvidia thing I had years ago and crank up my video card.

My computer is 2gig with nvidia geforce4 128meg and a gig of ram

Go to the nVidia website and get the latest GeForce drivers. That might fix it. There's only one package that covers all modern GeForce cards.

try uninstalled your Nvidia drivers (or better yet use a tool like DriverCleaner) and then reinstalling them with the latest version from the nvidia website.

You can also try the tweaked NGO drivers if the ones directly from the nVidia website don't work right.

But it seems you have just forgotten to reinstall your drivers after you cleaned up the hard-drive.

hey, i have a new computer and his video card is: GeForce 7600 GT 256MB
and i have a 1.024 ram. and 3.8 GHZ( i have a intel duel core 2 duo) and 320GB and Windows Vista Home Basic
and when i run the game on 1024Xsomhting(i dont remmember) its working smoth but the quality is looks like crap! its looking bad!!!
and i do it on Ultra high! whatam i need to do?!

Can you post a screenshot of your doom game? We could tell then what could be wrong we it.
