Zdoom/Zdaemon issue

I wasn't sure where else to post this, since this mentioned stuff about source ports, I would post this here. The reason that I'm posting this is there seems to be something wrong with my Zdoom port, it doesn't show my messages in the upper left corner anymore, like if I pick up ammo, it doesn't tell me. And what has made me more frustrated is when I play Zdaemon, and play a game on there, the messages don't appear at all, like chat messages and kills, I have to pull down the damn console tab to see what people are saying, and its all a hassle.

So does anyone have suggestions on how I can fix this annoying problem?
