I recently got the Doom Collectors Edition and am using the Doomsday Engine with it and the PSX sound effects and music. Now Im looking for mods for other functions that would make the Doom experience even better but Im not sure they exist or work through the Doomsday Engine.
- A way to combine all the Doom WADS so all the levels can be accessible without exiting each time.
- A level select mod where I can change the level easily inside the program without remembering and typing in map names.
-A random level/weapon/ammo generator mod so Doom never gets old!
Anyone know where I can find these mods/addons?

None of those exist that I know of. I'm sure if you were really desperate, you could find a way to add the Doom 1 maps to the Doom 2 WAD, but you'd also have to add the textures and all of the other dependancies. Sure to be a big mess that isn't really worth it.

I believe you can have 32 maps MAX in a wad. Sorry man, you're SOL.

- A way to combine all the Doom WADS so all the levels can be accessible without exiting each time. There are literally hundreds of thousands of Doom WADs you know... but you can use a program like XWE to combine them into one megawad. However, if they contain conflicting resources (eg the IWADs) then it won't be easy.
- A level select mod where I can change the level easily inside the program without remembering and typing in map names.Use the console "-warp X" command. Though I kind of agree that a map select dialog would be cool.
-A random level/weapon/ammo generator mod so Doom never gets old! What you need is SLIGE (http://www.doomworld.com/slige/)

Would it be possible to combine wads, so if you were doing lots of small maps, it could switch seamlessly to the next wad if your wads had, say, 150 levels together?

However you can only ever have 99 maps MAX loaded (from any number of WADs) at any given time.

so, your saying, if I made tons of levels for ultimate doom, and split it up into levels of 50 per episode, and gave it the command to load this wad when you enter E1, and unload it and run the other wad when you choose to play another episode! And if you make a wad with 100 levels, it just wont run at all!

You can load/unload new WADs via the console at runtime.
Anymore than 100 maps and they will be ignored

Thanks for the info. I ran into SLIDGE in my own search but it sounded like it was something that actually generated new levels not randomly selecting current ones. I’ll look into it some more though. Can it be used in conjunction with Doomsday? I also heard of the program that combines WADS. I was really looking for someone who has combined all the Doom level WADS (Ultimate Doom, Doom2, Final Doom) so I knew whether it could be done or not. As for the level select, I know about manually entering map names – I’m lazy and wanted to be able to sift through levels like I could in the PSX version.
