Hey hey all
I've just joined up, so I don't really know what I'm doing,
So if I screw up don't sue me. Anyway, I came to ask about fmod.
I'm an open source nut, and I refuse to use anything without a
OSI license, and I was wondering if fmod is going to be a requirement for the next (v2.0)
release of Legacy. If so, I guess I have a feature suggestion:
PLZ make it optional! If it disables music, so be it, but allow
users to compile w/o it. Thx!

P.S. I probably sound like a friggin businessman, but I'm a new, so I
can't really be myself until I'm accepted. Typical teenager, huh?

P.P.S. I googled around and searched the forum, and I didn't see
much discussion of this topic, so if I missed a big, long thread about what I'm asking about, link me, OK?

2.0 will be using SDL, so it can be assumed (until a developer provides an official answer) that fmod is no longer needed.

Iirc Fmod is only for if you use the 3d sound. Although I think Legacy will look it up regardless.

FMOD will not be needed. Legacy 2.0 uses SDL and SDL_mixer for sound and music.
Later we might add 3D sound using OpenAL. Now it is done by a half-assed software sound renderer.
