Hey Toranaga, I'm checking out your map now. Would you be okay with me reviewing it for an upcoming ND Reviews issue?

I gotta say, this truly captures the essence of a Star Fleet ship. Good job.[/dork] :p

The gameplay was occasionally aggravating and the skulls/brains/guts being on the ship (i.e. anything demonic besides the demons) didn't really fit, plus the sky texture at the bridge was strange though; overall it was a fun map though, nicely detailed, and only on one occasion (out of sheer stupidity) did I find myself lost.

I beta-tested and am going to review it soon on my site ("Outpost of Doom 2": http://www.webalice.it/sposito.lag). It is really a nice and enjoyable .WAD!

*starts singing Faith of the Heart* Clearly you need that to make it through all the viles in one try... :D

Fun map. Kinda makes you wish ZDoom had 3D floors though. And I dunno about that music. There's something about fighting a vile, two revenants, and a mancubus all at once that just makes me want some violent music.

"because I've got faaaaiiith of the heart! I'm going will my heart will take me..." Grrr, I'll have that song in my head all day now. :p

Yeah, that would have helped in some respects. I forgot to mention there's several ways to make elevators seem completely 3-dimensional in ZDoom though, even without the use of 3D architecture. I'm using some in two of the projects I've got going (perhaps more). Requires some scripting and sneaky teleporting but really would have turned out nice for a map like this...

And I dunno about that music. There's something about fighting a vile, two revenants, and a mancubus all at once that just makes me want some violent music.

Forgot about that too. That drove me crazy after about 10 seconds because it was so unfitting, so I turned it off. :p

I tried to make ZDoom play it with emulated FM synth but it wouldn't let me (stupid limitation to mus files...).

Oh yeah, the armoury was labelled as the launch bay in the text for the door. I was confused for a bit because I was sure I had already cleaned out the launch bay. I liked the launch bay though. That 3D bridge trick made it fun in there.

Wow. This map's tough. Stupid me, deciding to avoid one battle, running through a corridor and opening a door to an even bigger battle.

I'm happy my level wasn't bad afterall.

The midi is the Enterprise's soundtrack - Faith of the Heart. I know it is not good as Doom music, but i think it fits the level.

Well, you can review my level wherever you want !!!

bye,
