(taken from my PM to Pumpkin Smasher regarding resource code)
Shit. I changed all the texture names to start with "JF_".
Then I went in the map and adjusted ALL corresponding textures.
For some reason Doom still wants the old texture names. Legacy will run the map fine(though it displays "missing texture _____" for each tecture name changed), but boom refuses to use the new names since the old ones are still in the wad apparantly.
How do i edit the old names out for good?

EDIT: The sooner this problem is fixed, the sooner you mappers get to play with some new textures.

well, after hours of trickery I found the problem. It seems that cleaning up the wad wasn't enough. I had to run boom, find out the "phantom texture" it was complaining about, and use doombuilder to manually replace the complaint texture with its resource code corresponding texture. I did that about 7 times. Even though I had originally replaced all the old texture names in the map, the ports still saw all those textures i had used and had already deleted in older versions of the map. (I believe something similar happens in doom regarding the "secret" tag)
i post this for anyone facing similar problems.
