You could try a google search for those slang terms or even a Wikipedia search. Usually it works.

Newbies are newcomers. 'Nuff said.

Noobs/n00bs, on the other hand, can be lacking in knowlege in an area they claim to know, are typically annoying, are pests and quite often trollish, and most importantly almost never improve their behavior. Often these days, newbies coming in will be noobs, however the two are not interchangeable, seeing as not all newcomers are terrible like that.

As for other acronyms, etc, I find when in doubt, check Acronym Finder (http://www.acronymfinder.com). You'll easily be able to find things all the "cool" people say like ROFLMAO and OMGWTFBBQHAX. :p

The examples you cited aren't really abbreviations or acronyms, but just dumb Internet slang. For information on that, a good source is http://www.urbandictionary.com.

Reminds me of my brother always having to deal with admins on CS servers who aren't as good as him. They resort to cheating and when they sometimes still can't win they ban him, all the while insisting that they are the best player. Sad.

e.g. - Is an abbreviation; latin- means "Exempli Gratia", or "For Example".

Noob - Basically, someone who acts like a complete jackass and claims to know things about the game in question, and clearly doesn't.

PWN - Coined by stupid fuck CounterStrike players. Was originally just a typo (which is understandable, since the 'o' key and the 'p' keys are right next to each other). Just means "own", or to beat someone.
