We have had quite a few proposals for new monsters. We can have up to 2, so I will take the top two voted on.

I like the Winged Baron and the Winged Floating Imp. My third choice was the Grey Soldier which I was very close to choosing over one of the others....

Why did we need to go with several different colored suicide zombies? Couldn't we have just chosen between suicide zombie (since thats what they all are), winged baron, winged imp, and winged vile imp, then chosen what modifications to make from there? (ie. color, tweaks, etc.)

This one doesn't look too scary, so what's the idea? Maybe with different head....
As gameplay goes those don't add nothing much to it, no new type of attack or approach. Just another trooper

I really liked Winged Imp Baron (Nuxius) and the Grey Soldier. What about turning the Gey Soldier into a Red Soldier?

Well I have voted for the grey soldier and the winged imp, but I think this brown version of the grey soldier looks much better.
Just pick the two which has the most votes and then go for colour variations, take the versions which looks best ingame.

woah I wasn't expecting the response from just pasting the reverent's head on DooMAD's bad guy. it is kinda creepy though.

Perhaps some sort of auto shotgun?

It would then drop 4 shotgun shells upon death.

An railgunner would be nice make him a bit stronger as an chaingunner and let him drop cells.

Well I say we go ahead and get the brown skeleton head guy made. I think everyone seems to like him.

Many people also seem to like the winged baron, though i still think there are already too many barons in the game. But if that what yall like we should get all the versions of the winged baron together and decide on one.

Although the different versions of the suicide demons got a total of 15 votes, so maybe we should pick a design of that instead.

Personally I don't think it was fair to the other entries to put 3 different types of suicide monsters up, anyway. And since it was multiple choice, we can't determine that the people who picked one of those didn't use another pick to pick the various winged imp versions or the baron version.

Yup, I think that's true. It's not fair when three almost identical objects are counted as different candidates. If the three are merged togheter, I think it's quite clear on what the other monster should be.

In which the going argument about too many barons in the game already can turn into we already have enough undead marines in the game, why throw in an additional two rather than one.

Why not just take one zombie and one monster? Either way we're going to end up having new versions of old monsters. Might as well take one each; Use the baron since it has the most non-zombie votes, and then decide on one of the new zombies in a seperate poll. If we're going to have two monsters why don't we just be fair about it? Give players who want a demon a demon, and give players who want a zombie a zombie. We can have two monsters, might as well have one of each type, and make everyone happy.

I don't even know why people are continuously complaining about new copies of old monsters, anyway. They're whats given to us to work with, and its not like we have 10 different barons or something, or an army of different zombies. We have two different floating balls, two spiders, and 3 different zombies to start out with, yet plenty of other monsters so it's not like having one more baron or one more zombie is going to make up 70% of our monster base. I fail to understand how this got so complicated.

I want them to look doomy the winged baron an winged imp and the grey soldiers are good examples.
I have no problem with the fact that they are original sprites that are spiced up, they look perfect to me and will fit in nicely with the stock doom 2 monsters.

I agree with General Greivous here. One zombie, one monster. It's the only fair way to do things. To say that we should have only 2 zombies or 2 monsters would be selfish. I have no use for a zombie in my map, but I voted for 1 zombie and 1 monster anyway, because I actually realise that there are other people on this project who might want to use a zombie in their maps.

Also, if you're going to combine similar monsters into one category, then you should combine the various "black/red monsters with wings that shoots fireballs" as well, since they are also different variations of the same idea. And when you do that, it becomes clear who the victor is.

16 votes for the suicide zombie variations
22 votes for the black/red with wings monster variations

Adding up the similar entries could be a problem, thanks to a certain allegro whom shall remain nameless, who placed one vote for all the monsters. Not to mention he isn't even doing a map.

That means the winged ones would be given 5 votes and the suicide zombies 3 rather than just one. It didn't really matter when each monster was seperate, but it screws up the result if you add them together. That's assuming only one person did it too, there may have been others I'm not aware of. A poll probably isn't the best way to do this, since they're prone to such abuse.

Hmm It's been over a week ago but I think I voted on the winged baron and one of the suicide guys.
Even though I guess someone voted on all of them where is plainly says "CHOOSE 2", the baron and gray guy seem to still take the cake.
So whats the word? is anyone working on these, I know Nuxius said he might be doing the baron, and jedi might be doing one of the others.

But as is stands, is anyone really working on them?

I haven't done anything on the Baron w/ wings thing, because no one has agreed on any specifics yet.

Since the 2 winners of the monster vote thread are obvious, I'm going to go ahead and start individual topics relating to each. When we get the final colors/details/etc. ironed out, then we can start work on spriting them (well, hopefully :p).
