Hello everybody, I have a question about different WADs. *owell*

Uh... What do you mean by 'starting'?
To play a WAD, start Doom in the following way: doom -file somecoolwad.wad

Generally it is not good to answer a question with a question in my opinion, but what port are you using (if any)? ZDoom, PrBoom, Legacy, Doomsday, etc.? Or just Doom(2).exe or Doom95?

You can drag the wad file on the exe.

Yeah, that's pretty much the most obvious way to do it.

Also, if you really want to make things easy, you can go to Start -> Control Panel -> Folder Options, then click the File Types tab. From there you can click New and add the file extension WAD. Then click Advanced and New Action, and then give it a reasonable name (such as "Open with ZDoom") and make the target be whatever port you wish to open it with.

Then you just assign one the default, and when you double-click any wad file it will open with the program you chose to be the default. And when you want to open it with a different port, you can right-click and click the option for whatever port (e.g. "Open with Skulltag", "Open with GZDoom", etc).

We really need a stickied Classic Doom FAQ.
