I have launched the NDCP 2 website. I have also placed the current resource WAD on the website. I will be sending everyone a PM with the password for it.

NDCP 2 Website (http://ndcp.newdoom.com)

RESOURCE WAD LAST UPDATE: February 22
It is the same link and password as before
If you would like more textures in it, then send me a wad containing the textures you want. Then I will merge the Wads together.

I like the layout :) The only thing I might suggest is replacing the blue on the pages with a light to medium grey :)

Yeah it would look way better if the colors matched. Right now they kinda clash a bit, methinks.

@ Nuxius. I have sent you the password. Sorry about that, you had signed up after i sent the PM to everyone, and I hadn't sent it to the new mappers yet. But you should have it now.

Everyone look at the first post, it contains the date of the latest resource wad. It will be continually updated from there so that you will know if you have the latest version.

Website has been updated as well, if you have screenshots that you would like on their, post them in the maps progress thread. The resource wad has been updated...same password. Also Map01 has been completed and a link for its download is on the site (also passworded with the usual password).

The newest resource wad has some flats that are outside of any markers. Thought I'd point that out. ;)

EDIT:
And it seems Dani put in a grid texture exactly like mine... feh. I'll delete the one I used, then!

MORE EDIT:
Actually it seems to be that those out of the markers are duplicates. I didn't check but they do all have the same names as the other DU_flats.

OMG OMG OM GMO MGO EDIT:
Indeed they are duplicates.

Not to mention the current resource wad crashes Doom2.exe if you try to load a map that uses any textures from it. That doesn't matter to me, but if I'm not mistaken DooMad was trying to keep his map D2.exe compatible, so it would be an issue.

I also noticed that Legacy displayed one of the flats in one of Ace's shots all funky and stuff.

Fixing the problems Ace is referring to might fix these issues though; but if they don't, it might need to be redone. If it gets to that (hopefully not) I can take care of redoing it, if PS doesn't want to.

Yeah I'v sorta been keeping my map Doom2 compatible as well, although it's exceeded Doom2's vis limits.
Though if a 1024 prboom sky gets used in the resource, it will crash Doom2 also.

I agree, If the flats are the correct name and size and are beeween it's given makers then it should be fine in Doom2. heh

Have you guys found some misaligned door textures on my map?, cause I did found some of them when I was playtesting it last night.
They don't show up when playing it with zdoom and risen3d, but they do on boom and probably some other ports too.

Nodebuilder problem rebuild the nodes with zennode and its gone :), I used zdbsp.

MR_ROCKET
February 17th, 2006, 04:56 PM
yeah Zennode rocks with the gl ?type? that gl-boom and legacy-gl have..

IF all else fails though, run glbsp (http://glbsp.sourceforge.net/index.php) then run zennode (http://www.mrousseau.org/programs/ZenNode/)heh.
IF the areas still broken?, delete and rebuild it..,and then run Zennode (http://www.mrousseau.org/programs/ZenNode/archives/zennode-1.2.1.zip) lol

Nah no need for rebuilding the parts, ive fixed it allready the version on the ndcp2 website still has those misalignments in it when playing it with glboom an legacy.
Ah well onto my next map now, busy busy busy.

There seems to be a lot of wasted space in the last couple of resource wads.

Using XWE's' clean up may help. It turns out even smaller than the zip file.

Did you get my PM? After further inspection, my textures are a bit different to the other metal ones already in use.

Patches and textures DI_ME24A and DU_WHAT0 are the same.

Just so the users of both know, so we can eliminate one of them.

You ain't kiddin! I just shrunk that thing down to "1,795,852 bytes" (1.71MB), waaaaay down from "7,484,656 bytes" (7.13MB)! (yes, you read that correctly)

Argh didn't saw that one in the recource wad, shall I delete mine from my map?

didy
February 19th, 2006, 10:46 AM
I used DI_ME24A before DU_WHAT0 came in, but DU_WHAT0 was first in the recource wad

@ps I have only to change 4 or so textures, so you should delete DI_ME24A, I will change my map.

For the record, the textures I used I made for my wad, and they all start with a MR.
Let me know if there's any problems with them.

I haven't used or haven't had to use the resource wad yet. though I did notice some flats and wall textures being the same size 64x64, maybe thats how they got mixed up in the resource?
If this helps, I usually try to name my flats with an F in it somewhere so I'll know whats what before adding it to my wad.

Because what PS is working with is alot of textures, it's not a normal bunch of textures, theres a few different texture packs and 32 different mappers with different textures. it's sorta like waiting for a catastrophe to happen. heh
I'm sure everything will get straightened out soon. ;)

Just updated the resource wad...ran it through XWE's wad clean up... it also includes 3 possible sky textures. They may change if lots of people dont like them.

Also I haven't deleted the duplicates because i'm still not sure which ones we are deciding to keep.

MR_ROCKET
February 23rd, 2006, 12:52 PM
Got it, and you know I just realized that DooMAD's starynight sky looks better in prboom than it does in any other sourceport heh.

And yes, file size its much smaller now. ;)

ace
February 23rd, 2006, 02:02 PM
Yeh, the skies look nice methinks.

And I think we should decide on which duplicates to get rid of ASAP, to avoid later complications. I already took a texture of MINE that was a third duplicate and replaced it with one of the two in the wad, but I hope I don't have to do it again if the one I picked ends up deleted...

It appears that Hooked on Phonics has failed you both. :p I would demand a refund. ;)

Luckily then I picked the right one of those two, heh.

Really, is it too horrible to have two same textures in the same wad? It's not that much of a waste of space.

Nice updates on the ndcp2 website only my map name is Redemption instead of Black lair.
Black lair doesn't sound nice cause the map isn't black at all :)

I fixed that in the Map Sign-up Thread...I'll fix it on the webpage whenever I feel like updating again. Sorry about that, I guess I missed that somewhere while looking for all the info.
