Ok, I was playing D64, and saw the intro to the game. I thought it looked extremly cool, so, I fired up Doombuilder, opened my Zdoom tutorials, and built it from scratch, as a real working level.
It takes up the map01 slot of Doom2.
For those of you who have not seen it before, here's what happens:
Camera pans around a maze of buildings, watching marines fight demons, and getting owned.
Camera goes around the back of the buildings, then between them to the front again
camera raises, spins round so its looking at the buildings, then keeps raising, so you can see the top of the buildings, which spells the word "DooM"
Then, in my version, the level exits.
As soon as I work out all the bugs, I'll upload it on Monday, then people are free to use it as an intro to their own maps.

Sounds nifty. Though considering I'm already using an intro... :p

Thats awsome, but is it possible to set it as a different map (something like map33) and still have it work properly?

In ZDoom it's called TITLEMAP.

those zdoom people think of everything. also in the original doom 64 the roofs of the buildings level out and create a more solid "DOOM" as the monsters dissapear and the surrounding area blacks out.
also, you might need to use a GL port of ZDoom. regular ZDoom does that fish-eye thing when you set the camera angle too low/high.

For those of you who may not know, this is MAP39 in the D64TC. I played it a few times; you have to watch out for the other marines though. Although initially, they'll leave you alone, if one of your bullets/rockets/plasma hits them, they'll come after you like nobodies business. ;)

@Acylitor: mine does that...sort of
@Ninja: The camera won't work when its TITLEMAP
@Forgotten: you can set it to any map - no higher than map32
@Nuxius: how do you get to that? IDCLEV39 don't work...
Should be up soon, still some bugs

So? IDCLEV38 doesn't work either, but that doesn't mean Hectic isn't there, though. :p Open up the wad file and see for yourself. ;) As for how to get to it via normal means, that's one of the mysteries of the D64TC... *plays spooky music*

So are you saying that there are levels in D64 which aren't really accessible by playing?

Alright.
Well, I've never really played D64, so I don't know a shit about them.

Hectic isn't that hard on the PC version, just give yourself max status and save at the beginning, and replay your save if you die.

What are you on about? It should work. I was the first one to release a wad with a working TITLEMAP. I know it works.

It loads up, and the camera shows, but it doesn't move.
What map was it that you did? Do you have a link?

It loads up, and the camera shows, but it doesn't move.
It's called scripting.
The level I was referring to is here: http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=13108
