Yeah right, leaving me all the dirty work...
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?!
Go read some reviews!
Ok, this week you have only one review from me, so the overall quality lowers too. Haha, perhaps not.
We've got 5 reviews this week, and seems like there's a few wads worth playing. Check out here (http://reviews.newdoom.com/reviews/ndr005.shtml) to read the full reviews.
DooM Arena (http://reviews.newdoom.com/reviews/ndr005.shtml#DooM_Arena) by John D. Corrado(DOOMFLYNN). For Doom2.exe.
Deathmatch. 1 Map

Doom Arena is a deathmatch level by John D. Corrado ( DOOMFLYNN). The level features statue details of monsters from doom, but fails to deliver much detail when it comes to the rest of the level. This layout itself seems to suffer from a lack of planning, having the level be symmetrical and very plain. Gameplay suffers a far worse fate in leaving nothing for players to really hide behind and recuperate after vicious attacks from deadly foes. However, with about 6 - 8 player, I believe this level might be a very fun fragfest, that will definitely give out some of those deathmatch moments for doomers to dwell on.

Here we have a very nice looking eight maps, both tech and Hell. Unfortunately some sloppy scripting can render several of the levels impossible to finish. Some of the maps are also extremely difficult on UV, even to the point of including battles the player is intended to avoid.

Description: You are a special agent, investigating and photographing strange experimentation taking place in a hidden Cryonics Facility. As you get ready to leave, the platofrm leading to the exit lowers into a vat of acid, leaving you stranded, with no choice but to enter the rest of the facility. ***A semi-short techo/lab type level, with several non-linear areas to explore, and many enemies to kill.***

[txt] (ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/pc/games/idgames/levels/doom2/a-c/asylum2.txt)
Description: You are sent to clean out an old & remote asylum, somewhere in the mountains.....letting yourself inside after getting no response from the guard shack outside. But when you get inside, nothing is what it appeared to be from first glance. ***Semi-large fortress level, with large outdoor areas & toxic pools, and a ton of monsters to kill. Nice level if you are really frustrated and need something to shoot at, or if you're super bored and need something interesting(gory) to check out.***
Pagan's run (http://reviews.newdoom.com/reviews/ndr005.shtml#Pagans_run) by Andrew Apted. For Doom2.exe
Single Player. 1 map.

A different map, for it forces the player to run non-stop through the whole level if he wishes to stay alive. It has really good balancing, although it may be a bit too difficult for newer players. Its visuals aren't great, but considering the theme of the map, I don't think that the player would be able to admire them for too long.
