Hope someone will be able to help us out on this one*uhh* basically, we're running Doom Classics via Doomsday and want to simply change the low-res 2d skies with hi-res 2d skies. We're aware that skyboxes are available but we have kept 2d sprites instead of 3d models because we just love the look of the original Doom(s) -Except the SKIES!!

So please please please, how on earth do we go about changing them for simple 2d ones??? (please say its something simple like a patch or just placing image files in a folder!)*plop*

Thanks in advance to whoever solves this problem for us!*wave*

Wrong forum buddy: here, it's a place dedicated to Doom Legacy...

That said, you could use WinTex, or XWE, in order to replace the pictures. I think that WinTex won't allow you to put highres ones, but, as long as Legacy (actually) don't use highres pictures, I can't tell you more about it. The next version (named 2.0, C++ coded) will be able to use highres for the textures and the skies.

Only port I know of that supports hi res skies is jDoom, or Doomsday as it's often called.

I think he'd get more help in the Doomsday forum.
