OK, I'm after a decent MP3/WMA to midi converter that:
1)Free
2)saves the conversion
3)does more than 15 seconds of conversion
I've searched all over google, please help!

MP3 is just raw sound (like you might capture from a microphone). MIDI contains music information (what notes to play on what instruments). It's not possible to simpy "convert" MP3 into MIDI.
Any such program would be incredibly complex to make, and hence I doubt you will find any free program to do it. You would need a human musician to make a high-quality reconstruction of the song.

I have very good reason to believe that conversion from MIDI to MP3 is possible. But the other way around isn't.
The lowdown on MIDI is HERE: (http://www.omega-art.com/midi/mfiles.html)
As you can see, it references a series of instruments and orders them to play their sound at a certain pitch. There's also lots of other data to allow effects like modulation, transposition, pitch bend, etc. As you can guess, it is very hardware dependent. And has a very different modus operandi to MP3/WMA. Thus, conversion is pretty much impossible.
Sorry about that. You could do the conversion manually. But it'd be tedious as. :)
