if my roomate, using jDoom (Doomsday) on Linux connects to me, it crashes on his computer.

If I connect to him (using a slightly different Doomsday.. the Snowberry launcher) with jDoom, it works fine except for the fact that i FLOAT. On his screen, my character flashes between the ground and whatever height i 'fell' from. for example, if i walk off a ledge, on my screen i see it as though im floating, as if there's an invisible floor. HE sees my character flash between being where i should, on the ground, and whatever level i fell from. it makes gameplay useless.

it's a lan connection through a router

Although I reported this bug awhile back, I think it was during 1.8.3ish area and skyjake fixed it. Things might have gotten fixed and broken. It's like the player didn't spawn at an exact location and if he was to close to and area that was higher or lower than the other, then the player would randomly spawn somewhere between the heights.
Of course that was what the bug did then, I didn't have this problem when me and my brother played on lan using the same (latest) win32 version.

Sounds like your roomate is using an old version of jDoom that has the bug MR_ROCKET mentions.

I'd suggest you get him to upgrade to the same version that you are running.
