FP! Newsed!
Nice reviews. I'm downgrabbing Dutch Devils map and will play it now..... wooooo.
[edit] By the way, why is this issue #2 tagged as #0. I know I read the fresh start thinghy but I think it would be better if the issues were numbered correctly. Besides how can you have an issue #0? Will the next issue (which is issue 3) be issue 3 or #1 again?

Heh... First issue was #-1 (minus one) as to specify the betaness of it. This is #0 as some stuff is still to be fixed and so. It´s like "Year Zero" for us :). Next one will be #1, #2, #3... And of course, in some moment we´ll forget about "Welcome to our ####th issue" in the thread itself so it won´t matter anymore :).

I didn't realise that was a minus. Confusing.
Just played Dutch Devil's Hangar 27. It's a very nice little map and I like the architecture. Took me 9 minutes to play through. I almost missed the secret with the armor then I clued in later where the door should be.... Wish it was longer but the map is worth playing just the same. :)
Time to read the other reviews and dig around the other maps. :)

Hey one of my maps got reviewed, with the highest score yet. And the review is a pretty good one at that. It almost makes me want to make a sequal to the map.

Two comments on Vermil's review of Mine Shaft (http://reviews.newdoom.com/#MINE_SHAFT_), one technical, the other about a comment in the review:
Some stray HTML has got into the text ("<span style=""> </span>"), and this has caused some junk ("<!---->") to appear in the short version in the forum thread (http://forums.newdoom.com/showthread.php?t=29174).
[i]Vermil wrote re map02:
A small note. It is possible to get the yellow key without raising the bridge, skipping part of the map.Actually, you don't need to get the yellow key at all, so you can skip even more of the map. I made use of this to record a Nightmare demo (http://www.doomworld.com/sda/dwdemo/Shaft-NM.zip) (though this was quite tricky as it was, just needing the red key).
Edit: Actually, I have a third comment. "OMG!!! NOT Another Map By PuMpKiNsMaShEr" is said by the author to require a Boom-compatible port, but the reviewer claimed to have playtested it with Doom95, a port that does not support Boom features. I don't know whether this would have broken anything critical in this particular wad, but it doesn't seem quite right to review a wad based on testing it with the "wrong" engine.

Thanks for you comments Grazza. The Vermil sintax problem appeared also on the site and was fixed a minute before issuing. I completely forgot about the forums but we can easily solve that with the mighty "Edit" button.
Also, the review by CrashOverRide with Doom95 is a very similar problem (it may seem completely different though) and both of them are being worked on in the team (you know, our way of working and stuff).

So I've been thinking about making a sequal to my recently reviewed map. It will take me a while to do it, especially since I haven't mapped in a while. But it might be something I will start in my free time. If yall have any ideas or would rather see me not make a sequal let me know. I'll continue with my goal of making a map with high gameplay, and still nice detail.

I got around to playing OMG!!! NOT Another Map By PuMpKiNsMaShEr. Pretty fun map with a nice layout that was easy to navigate. My main gripe would be the mancubus that is in the outside area near the start. He's kinda useless as he can't fire into the room. It would be more interesting if he was higher up (or the window was lower) and could put fireballs through the window. Otherwise nice job PS. :)
Of course you should make anouther map PumpkinSmasher. :D

eh so there is one thing wrong with the map, o well.
It may take some time for me to come up with some ideas for a new map.

I think it would be nice to have the older reviews on the new site as well. Maybe have a page labeled all reviews and sort them alphabetically, or/and by review week.

Heh, don´t even worry. If everything goes well you´ll have new stuff in the next issue, namely:
-Reviews index (sorted per month) and stuff so you can access them quickly.
-Reviewed wads list (sorted by order of reviewing) with info about the reviewer, the issue and score (surely port and style too) and links to the review and files themselves.
We´re trying to think of almost everything ;). Now get these submissions we´re in need this month and send them. Join the team if you think you can manage it and, of course, spread the word :).

Well there is a blurb about this on my website. Maybe in the future i will join the team, but at the moment i don't have the time. I'm still trying to find time to start my next map which now has the working title OMG!!! Why On Earth Is PuMpKiNsMaShEr Making Another Map?

I got around to trying Last Mission. I liked the cave areas and all the Imp battles. Didn't care much for the ending tho, but that's just me. :p I guess I was expecting something else.
