I didn't care much for Sharon Osbourne when they had that stupid reality show, now I can't stand the bitch, but she got hers in the end. Lead singer Bruce Dickinson said some stuff about Ozzy, made some jokes about the Reality show (he probably shouldn't have said that crap but anyhow) and then later during thier final show at Ozzfest had thier performance attacked / sabotaged... all because of that creepy bitch. The band was attacked by members of the Osbourne camp, not the FANS... so read this: Iron Maiden were pelted with eggs, bottle caps, beer cups, spit on, had people from the Ozzfest camp talking over the PA during their set, had 'Eddie' delayed from his onstage entrance, had members of the [Black Label Society] entourage rush the stage with American flags, and had the PA intentionally turned off over six times, all by the OSBOURNE CAMP.

Full article is on Metal Hammer (http://www.metalhammer.co.uk/article.asp?ID=8774&type=NWS)
Alt link on Blabbermouth (http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=40691) since the Metal Hammer link got lost. Heh.

After the band left the stage Sharon came on, called Bruce a prick and then got booed, called a bitch and ended up soaked with beer thrown from the fans and had to leave in a huff. Heh. What an idiot and what a disgrace.

Pretty sad if you ask me.

Through it all, the band kept playing and showed the idiots that Iron Maiden kicks ass. Other bands would've left the stage but Maiden stayed the course, took the crap and gave the fans the best performance they could give under attack from total idiots who tried to ruin it all for everybody. The attackers are lucky 40,000 fans didn't mob their sorry asses.

Yeah I heard about if a few days ago. I think it's pretty disgraceful to do that to any band whatever the reason, and for something like that, very unprofessional. Seriously, that spoiled it a lot for many thousands of fans.
I especially do not get her gripe about the Union Jack that Maiden fly at their shows, she's from the UK, the band are from the UK, so why not? Just an excuse from her.
Really, while Bruce perhaps should have been a little more careful about what he said, retaliation like that is just childish. Honestly, I can understand why the band are pissed off, if I was playing live and somebody decided to pelt me with stuff and cut the PA, naturally there'd be heads rolling among those responsible for the sabotage.
I don't know what kind of reaction Sharon was expecting from the fans there, but if she was expecting them all to charge to her side then she's so terribly wrong. I think that most there would be interested in the bands performing and not about her or her family. As was said, they should be bloody thankful there was no riot, angry metal fans are not a pleasant sight to behold!
But yeah, good on the fans for not standing for that garbage, I'm not at all surprised by their reaction to this whole mess.

Iron Maiden didn't deserve it. no band deserves it, but least of all a legend like IM. i hate the Nu Metal and metalcore festible that Ozzfest has become!

Nicely said She-wolf.

Like they said, theres no way a doz eggs or more could get past security, so that's pretty disgracefull that people who organised Ozzfest would intentionally try to ruin a bands performance for such petty reasons. Hell, I think she should be charged for this crap. I can't imagine how infuriating it would be to be playing in front of 40,000 and have people from the venues organisiation throwing eggs and pulling the plug on the sound. It makes me mad thinking about it. Heh.

^Well it is on several music news sites, no doubt it will be properly documented in Terrorizer when I next get it. It's pretty deplorable as I said, and after Mastodon got chucked off the Ozfest list, well it's kind of sad as many fans only went to Ozfest for those two bands.
Granted Mastodon got thrown off for supposedly getting drunk and wrecking stuff at night, but you know it is a metal festival and stuff like that happens and really from what I had heard, it just seemed to be the reaction right away to throw them off. Whatever happened with actually talking things over? I know that's not terribly "metal" but I'm not stupid and I certainly seem to be a little bit more mature than the woman who helps to organise Ozfest who likes to deal with things by pelting the band with eggs.
