Just playing around with 3d floors and the bookcase texture in Doom2:

I might make it into a small puzzle mod, but with my track record of ever completing/releasing anything it's unlikely to see the light of day *dark*

Feel free to steal the concept. Or better yet, post some of the things you have created.

That looks really nice, planky, but It really wasn't neccessary to take that many screenshots.

Lucius, start yourself. Legacy is really prone to some puzzle stuff with FS :D... Anyway, I don´t see any pics!!. What in Legacy is inside those white squares with a red x?.

Thanks for the links Planky... They refuse to load in my browser though. Even glpics.com (whatever it is XD) doesn´t load, it seems that it´s down or something like that. I´ll wait and if I can´t get them I´ll see if someone can post them to Imageshack or something.

It certainly isn't down, but it seems various people arent able to connect to it. I'll upload them to a different server later tonight.

Screens work fine for me. This stuff is similar to what Boingo is doing with TUCQ and what DD did in Vilecore and is doing in Vilecore 2. Both wads have a lot of architecture that was created by using 3D floors to extend texture features. Very good idea. Never occurred to me you could do it with the books. :D

PS: No luck with the screenies still. Any caritative soul to upload them to "Imageshack" or something like that?. I´m starting to make a mental idea of what it is, but I would like to see it anyway.

Only took 20 minutes (mainly to get the floors at the right height and the textures aligned), the rest is copy and pasted :)

Never occurred to me you could do it with the books. :D Ummmm there's no 3D floors in Vile or Vile2 but I did do a lot of extended textures in Vile2... tho I never showed anybody that stuff, except that one screenshot. Most of my 3D floor work is in Blood Pentagram and the maps I'm doing for Stalking Evil.

Anyways that looks really cool Planky. At first it was hard to see what you did there because I found the screens dark.

Finally, I can see the screens!.. Very cool work Planky. I don´t know if this can have some gameplay value (push a determinated book to open secret doors???, find the missing book and retrieve it???) but looks neat.

Thanks. Interesting that you find them dark - it's either your monitor, or the fact I only have lcd screens.

That would be it. No problem with my LCDs grey blacks but the CRT didn't fare as well. Now excuse as I switch resolutions just because you can't.:)

Now that I think of it, it reminds me to the library scene in the original *bow* "Alone in The Dark" *bow* . Ahh, those were good scary days and semi-logical puzzles.

Apparently he did that by accident.. about a week ago when i suggested that those screenshots look just like from AITD, he had this to say:

Anyway.. that was a great game. Too bad i can't play that on my machine now. The damn character switches over to run mode when hitting 'up' key twice, but on this computer it wants a time between 2 hits to be in nanoseconds or something, wich means i'll always die a horrible death by the hands of some weird bird or other random creature when i need to run.

Frades, have you tried one of those Dos emulators or programs wich slow down your computer?. That´s a game worth replaying and worth an update with some engine, isn´t it??.
