Tell us which original levels you enjoyed the most from Doom and it's sequel. This map may have had a unique surprise for it's time, a secret area that made you feel proud once you found it, etc.

Here are my choices:
E1M2: Nuclear Plant: The chainsaw secret. This was given away in the Version 1.2 demo and I thought it was one of the most memorable secrets in the game. That was also my first chainsaw. *winky* Also, the map had a song with a nice beat.

E1M3: Toxin refinery: Once I found the secret exit, I felt a great sense of accomplishment (I didn't even know secret levels existed.)

E1M7: Comp. Station: At the time, the architecture on this map was gorgeous. A huge waste lake dividing the map into two areas the windows where you could snipe at monsters. Those were good memories. Also one of my favorite songs "March of the Demons" is played here too.

E2M2: Containment Area: Even today, this map still looks good, and is fun to explore. A very well done crate maze.

E2M4: Deimos Lab: this one can be creepy the first time. Dark coridors taken over by hellish architecture and the song "They're going to get you" added some tense atmosphere.

E2M6: Halls of the Damned The music is what made this one memorable. "Sinister" is another favorite song of mine, and added a chill to those damned halls

E2M9: FOM: Very simple map, yet it was still fairly fun. I wish it were bigger however.

E3M5: Unholy Cathedral: A temple style level with an interesting teleport puzzle. Also plenty of monsters to battle too.

E3M6: Mt. Erebus: A whole mountain with lots of monsters all for the killing. What more could you ask for?

E4M2: Perfect Hatred: This is what Ultimate Doom was all about. Tight walkways over slime, and barons in close quarters. This map was not for the faint of heart.

E4M6: Against Thee Wickedly: The next best map to E4M2, was this gem. It's resembles a cathedral filled with slime and a puzzle of walkways.

...................

I can't go onto Doom 2 right now as I have to leave the house and work out at the gym (Yes, I don't sit in front of the computer all day *thumbs* )

Hehe, my feelings are quite the same on the first two parts.

I remember watching my father playing (ie. smacking his head to the wall) E2M8, Tower of babel, when I was a kid. He just cursed the missiles and the instant kills he got from them.
I only played episode 1 back then. :)

Also, a legendary map for me is doom 2's MAP02, since when I was a lil kiddo, it sure felt like it was filled with puzzles.

I will always remember E1M1 for almost everything... Then, surely the Pandemonium on Doom 1 and map04, "The Focus" of Doom2.
