watching that, i get the feeling of a doom 3 movie, i dont get a feeling of a doom-1-2 movie.

yeah its based on Doom3. It would be good if they made some references to the originals though

They cant. Considering doom3 is a remake of the original games. In doom3 the original doom games havnt even happened yet.

i thought the timeline was Doom 3 > Doom > Doom 2

In any case, i found the trailer to be rather bland... but I'll still go see it... the first trailer is almost always bland. Not sure why that is.

That's pretty much correct. Doom 3 was made with the idea that Doom 1 and Doom 2 never existed. They're not tied together at all.
