Before I add a poll, has anybody heard of them? They were a British band formed by Paul Weller (The Jam) and Mick Talbot (Dexy's Midnight Runners). Dee C. Lee and Steve White were also credited as members. Their best songs included "You're The Best Thing", "Long Hot Summer" and "Walls Come Tumbling Down." The video for "Long Hot Summer" was rather homoerotic and only served to confuse Paul's loyal fans. Come 1990 he couldn't get a record company in the UK so The Style Council came to an end. Even though they never got to the top of the charts, they were a very intelligent and underrated group.

I remember them...they were a bit too AOR for me back in the day. Now I look back on artists like them and Donald Fagan and go "brilliant!" instead of "boring." Still, part of me's with Tears for Fears when they said, "Kick out the Style...bring back the Jam!"

Yeap, I've heard of them. The Jam was so much better ... No offense, but "Style Council" were so aweful, it was hard to believe it was the same Paul Weller. Hated Dexy's Midnight Runners as well (oh how I want to wretch when I even think of that unmentionable, no need to mention, you know the one, song). *eek*Tears for Fears when they said, "Kick out the Style...bring back the Jam!"
LOL, that's a great quote, hadn't heard that!
