Eric Clapton
Jimi Hendrix
Jimmy Page
Jeff Beck
Brian May
...not to mention countless others including Slash, Downing/Tipton and Pete 'charlie chester' Townsend, but these five are probably my favourites. Some rearrangement tends to occur, but clapton and hendrix remain at the top.

here's mine
5. Ozzy Osbourne; Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy plays guitar? The only people off the yop of my head that played for him in Sabbath or his own act was Zakk Wylde, Randy Rhodes and Iommi.
Eh, sorry to be picky MoP but it's Totman. *winky*
Ugh as for my own, heh, I hate making lists like these because there are always more than 5 that I think are deserving of being mentioned and it's hard because what I like about one may be different from what I like about another. I might like the fact that they can play incredibly fast, I might find that rather than play fast they play slower but have a really good feel to the music. I'll probably come up with a list later cos I'm rather knackered from all the partying and the general weekend that has been graduating uni and the graduation ball that ran on for 12 hours. *drunk*

I like Anthony Frank Iommi very much, but Dave Mustaine also deserves a mention.

Eh, sorry to be picky MoP but it's Totman. *winky* really? i better go correct metalstorm's info page then. yeah, Dave kicks butt too, he would be on my top 10. maybe 6, but the fact that both those dudes in Dragonforce bust out solos so damned crazy put them both on there.

1. Jason Becker. No question.
2. Marty Friedman
3. Alexi Laiho
4. Zakk Wyld
5. Either Steve Vai or Eddie Van Halen--they're both really great.
I really wish Jason Becker could suddenly get better. It's a shame such an amazing and talented man could be struck with such an unfortunate disease...

Mine´s easy:
Steve Vai. -> Real guitar God and revolution for me :).
Then, in no particular order:
Vinnie Moore. -> Smooth, accurate, full of feeling.
Karl Logan. -> Let´s just say... Manowar.
Allan Holdsworth. -> Crazy, wild, abstract and excentrique.
Jimi Hendrix. -> Six string ignition.
