i haven't been able to log into DeviantART for the last few days. i got rid of the cookies and tried it again, still was unable to log in. strange. so i though, well crap maybe i'll create a new account... thats when i got this message

We are sorry, but you are attempting to create an account from a network or Internet Service Provider (ISP) that is shared by an abusive individual. This individual's repeated actions have forced us to ban your shared ISP, causing you this inconvenience.

This type of ban is reserved for only the most extreme cases of abuse and prevents anyone using your particular ISP from creating a new deviantART account.

This may be either a temporary or permanent measure depending on the nature of the abuse. Due to the manner in which your service provider handles its users we are unable to narrow the ban any further and cannot specifically exclude you.

This does not imply that you have personally caused this action, but rather it may be the actions of someone unknown to you who simply shares your ISP.

Please be patient, or, if the option is available, use a different ISP, until we feel that this ban may be lifted or otherwise modified.so, needless to say, i'm pretty upset.

I've been banned from a forum once. I tried to email one of the moderators about the specific reasons (I had 2 in mind) but I never got any response.

Try to email any of the guys in charge of Deviant Art. Be gentle and maybe they'll at least let you know what happened to make you be banned.

EDIT: Just ocurred to me: Why don't you try to create a new account from a friend's computer? Might work.

no no, its not me. i haven't abused anybody on DA, i'm a nice little boy there :p

read what it says, it's cause whoever got banned uses Comcast just like me. as far as i know, all Comcast users are blocked from DA (at least in this region).

Heh, I got banned from here once thanks to AOL. Those of you who knew Diablo maybe heard this before. We both used AOL so when he was struck off the list I went too. All I had to do was use IE for browsing instead of AOL and that solved it. Bit weird but that's what happened. *bug*

Try emailing one of the system maintainers and explain your problem, they usually have an ear for someone in trouble.

That's very odd MoP. Yeah I hate it when bans end up dragging other people down into them, I guess it sure makes you think twice about getting banned since there's no telling if somebody else is affected in the process.

Uhm I think i've seen one or two who work at deviantart over at Shiver7. I'll go and have a look for you.

I've sent this dude called Kevin who works at DA an email asking him to look into the matter why you have been banned or why your ISP has been banned. I hope to have an answer for you soon.

Yeah, sometimes sites will ban an IP range, rather than a specific IP address.

I still say you can use Tor to just make it look like you came from somewhere else. The link is in my last post.
