Server problem

I am trying to play a game with a friend and all the doom legacy program detects is my local ip. how do I get it to detect my internet ip?

It will only grab your lan ip - if you want to know your internet ip, follow these steps (Assuming your on WinXP/2000):

Click Start and select run
Type "cmd" and click ok.
Type ipconfig

Now you'll have something like this appear:

Locate the entry for your modem and look at the IP Address line. That is your Internet IP.

For win9x, run winipcfg and select your modem. Again look at the address line to get your ip.
