Please note, the masterserver currently down (actually, it's IP address has changed and hurdler hasnt updated the dyndns account).
This does not mean you can't play multiplayer - you'll just have to find servers without the help of the masterserver.
Any questions regarding this can be asked here, don't go making threads about it - I'll close them and direct you to this thread.

If you absolutely cannot live without the masterserver, edit the 'masterserver' line in config.cfg(in your legacy folder) so it looks like this:
//masterserver "doomlegacy.dyndns.org:28910"
masterserver "70.32.189.26:28910"
This is only a temporary fix due to the fact that ip address will eventually change - which means you will have to manually update your config files again.
Edit: iori_, your a mong *dark*

Planky, since I´ve never been able to connect to the master server I´ll post a question.
I´ve edited my config.cfg in the way you tell me to do. Then I run Doom Legacy (Doom 2 Iwad, I don´t think that matters) and in the Menu I select "Multiplayer" -> "Connect" -> "Search on Internet". Legacy waits for a while and tells me it didn´t find any servers. It always happens this time. I´m surely doing something wrong or whatever so, could you please tell me the process I need to follow in order to play online?.
Thanks.

Chances are there aren't any servers running.

O.k... Also, there has been some time since the Site in which you can see which servers are running doesn´t work for me. I suppose this has to do with the lack of an update???. By the way, I couldn´t see any servers back there when it worked. Is this also meant to happen???.
Thanks.

Most of it depends on the doomlegacy.dyndns.org account - it's a redirection service that points you to the masterserver, if the masterserver's ip changes, the dns account has to be updated to the new ip.
I'm aware of a bug in the masterserver where servers disappear off the listing after awhile - is the actual page loading for you, or timing out?

It shows me the green "Doom Legacy" background and nothing else. Then is lists the page as "Ready".

yeah, that page relies on the dyndns account being correct. So it wont show any info till it's corrected.

roofle Plankse, in your first post you said edit 'config.sys'. Why dont you tell them to rename it command.com and place it in their root C: ? *dark*

Lol, how did I miss that. Better tell him to add DEVICE=EMM386 /NOEMS so he can access his UMBs.

If there were, then I would be able to provide some dedicated server goodness on the server as well. We already have hl2dm running on it, and there aren't any problems with bandwidth, etc.
