I have a intel centrino laptop with pentium m 715(1.5ghz, 2MB L2 Cache, 400MHz FSB), It has intel extreme graphics of upto 64mb. I have 512mb ram, but in system properties it says 480mb which means 32 mb is being used by video card. I installed doom3 and did the system scan for the setup and then exited and made a autoexec.cfg files with these configs found on the forums

Everything runs fine, but as soon as it comes to the part when i find the scientist who is sending out a communication and then the flying heads start popping out of nowhere it gets stuck. Please help me with this. Does anybody know how i can increase vid memory to the full which is 64mb. I tried my laptop Compaq V2140CA bios but no config there. And also anymore tweaks i can do. And also the characters in the doom are like two faced (like two face in batman :) ) where half is darker than the other. Can this be solved ? Or as i am using the most f@#$# up card ever it can't be solved.

Go into the BIOS. Just look for the option that has 32mb next to it (should have the UMA in it). And might help to update your drivers (http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/Product_Filter.asp?ProductID=922).

yup updated my drivers. My Compaq Presario V2140CA doesn't have the option in the bios. Actually it doesn't have no option for video memory in bios. Any other ideas

well in graphics propeties for intel extreme graphics 2 there is in opengl asynchronous flip, triple buffering, flipping policy, depth buffer bit depth, force S3TC Texture compression, force FXT1 texture compression, Driver Memory Footprint, Texture Colour Depth, Antisotrpic Filtering. Thats all in opengl tthere is nothing about directx. Well tell me if anything to change in these settings.

Hello cheystar, I have the Intel 845G chip-set video card in my desktop and was having the same issue as you upuntill earlier today. I just messed with the OpenGL settings and found out that turing on " *bow* Force FXT1 Texture Compression *bow* " allowed me to play past that part and as far as I know it will work well beyond that.

I do know thought that I was having the EXACT same issue as you, even the same error messeage that you have in that screen shot. I know this issue is very annoying but being the type of person I am, I don't let my computer beat me I either get it to do what i want or throw it around till it does, of course I am happy the "geting i to do what I wanted" part worked first since this computer I have is only about 7 days old

I hope this info helps you, if it does pleasea email me at "steve45377@mebtel.net" or if you have AIM and I am on drop me an IM at "Steve453770". I hope I have been of some help and that you get this info, thought I am not sure you will since your last post was in april.
