I was just reading some esotheric material, and
found out that Cacodemon is not a nick ID created, it's
from ancient Egyptian mythology, a spirit of Evil
(there were AgatoDemons - spitirs of Good, and Cacodemons)
BTW should we add some good agatodemon monsters to Doom? :)
To coop mode? :D

I thought it was derived from greek mythology, from the Giant Kakos (http://www.theoi.com/Kronos/Kakos.html) (Cacus in Latin).

Well, Shub-Niggurath from Quake 1 is actually a monster from Cthullu mythologies.

i always thought "Caco" derived from Cacytus, the 9th level of hell.

Nope. It's actually Cocytus MoP.:p
Check the Doom wiki. It's linked to the Astral Dreadnought but there IS another, much closer link. I can't remember what it is though.*bug*
