Hey, I just got the DOOM64 TC standalone WAD for DOOM2 and I was wondering are there any more maps available for this? I'm really enjoying visiting this DOOM remake, but I think it would be neat to see some original maps that weren't in the console version.

Anyway, I'll keep googling. I'll add links here if I find them. :D

I'm working on a map for the D64 TC.

Here are some early screenies:

And here are some updates:
http://img10.exs.cx/img10/8736/kd64m178ag.jpg
http://img10.exs.cx/img10/7868/kd64m162vm.jpg
http://img10.exs.cx/img10/1263/kd64m154jr.jpg
http://img10.exs.cx/img10/7195/kd64m149qz.jpg
http://img10.exs.cx/img10/2909/kd64m134wu.jpg
http://img10.exs.cx/img10/5568/kd64m128ps.jpg
http://img10.exs.cx/img10/4964/kd64m113jm.jpg

Some of the areas, like the ones in the earlier screenshots were to dark. So I brighted them up a bit.
My old comp finally died on me, and I was having trouble with the one I'm using now so work has been on the map has been delayed. But now I shall continue work on it in earnest. :)

OH SH** Thanks a million man for showing me this. *munch* :) If you need anything from me, like a game or something you looking for, holla at me for real, because this is cool. I was trying to buy doom 64 on n64 but for some reason, the price is still high, over 15 bucks ha you crazy. But now i can play it on the pc, cool.

HOLD UP, whats this:

To run the Doom 64 TC, You must have the Doom2.wad (hope you paid for it), the install file, and the music wad.

Can i just pick up the doom collection pack from gamespot or ebworld to own this doom 2.wad and music wad thing? / install file?

peace!

The music wad was created for the TC. It's all the music from DooM64 brought to PC in a wadfile. The install file is the DooM64 install program I think. As for Doom2.wad, that's where all the data (WAD) required to run Doom 2 is kept. If you go and buy the Doom collectors edition (cheap) you will get Ultimate DooM (Doom 1 with 4th episode), DooM 2, TNT: Evilution and Plutonia experiment all in one disc and you won't regret it. :D The TC (total conversion) seems to capture the atmosphere of the game itself perfectly. (despite the fact I never played DooM64:p)

Please DON'T downlaod the thing. Warez is bad plus the risk of viruses and missing data. And we don't take kindly to it too.:p

Once you install DooM 2 on your system just go to the folder it was installed to (C:\Program files\DOOM COLLECTORS EDITION\Doom 2) and that's where it is. There should be a readme included with the TC so check that for info, if not, check the site I mentioned. Have fun.:)

Source ports are also a recommendation. Doom95 isn't too great. A massive range of ports, big and small, cater to the needs of many. Legacy has 3D stuffage and fancy lighting, ZDoom has particles and a tonnage of really cool stuff like custom monster creation beyond Dehacked and soon to be custom weapons and Doomsday has 3D models and loads of cool lights and stuff. 2 others to try would be Vavoom and EDGE.*thumbs* Plus they give mouselook, other control types and higher resolution support.

So i'm saying, if i buy the doom collections edition, everything i need to play doom 64 on pc is in the collection box right?

If so, then i got it good then. Becasue ebworld has a copy for 14.99, i can pick it up tomorrow or later this week. *bang*

In short. All you need to play the TC is a copy of Doom collectors edition and then downlaod the TC if you haven't already done that and the music wad. That's you all set.

Wasn't this topic about addons for the Doom64 TC?

Better than creating a new thread to ask just one simple question. Besides, this IS a Doom64 related question he's asking.

I'm buying it friday night at gamespot, 17.99, one used copy left. They have brand new copies, but for some reason its 30 bucks. I cant wait to play doom 64 tho, and the n64 version is still over 25 bucks. They tell me its a classic, please. The system is dead, all n64 games should be 2 bucks or 5 dollars.

Btw, any word on a multiplayer doom game for the pc that yall or someone else is working on. I would luv to host some multiplayer games once my site is finsh.

Doom has been multiplayer for years. There are 2 ZDoom versions, Skulltag and ZDaemon. Doom connect hosts games from all ports.:) believe me, there's a lot more to the DooM community than meets the eye.;)

Maps looking pretty good there, Kaizen. It definitely looks like D64, now I just hope it plays like D64.

Anyway, yeah, we definitely need more D64 maps.
